I have been wanting to modd my 2289 backpacker, but I just got around to it. What length of Barrel should I get to make it a .177 target gun? Also, I know someone around here modded his rifle with a aftermarket cheeck riser. I was wandering where he got that? Thanks guys.

Check out this thread, you will have to scroll down to find the list. ;D You will need to order the 177 bolt and bolt O ring as well part #1377A062 and 397-062 these would be for a gun with a stock plastic breech. If you are using a steel breech you would need to go to one of the aftermarket suppliers.
You can order the one you want from the Crosman customer service department at 1 800 724 7486 :D

LW barrels are the most accurate. The Crosman 2300S target pistol uses a 10.1" LW match barrel part#2300-002. If you are using a steel breech, you can order the 2300s bolt assembly (long nose bolt, o-ring and handle) #2300-123. in standard barrels there are only a few available from Crosman:
.177 (4.5mm)
Length Original Gun Crosman P/N
7.5” 2240 Only 1740-002
10.25” 1377 1377-025
10.1” LW Match 2300-102
24” 1760 1760-001 or (1760SE-001 Discovery barrel if the 1760 is no longer available)
You can cut a longer one down and re-crown it, or order any length you want from a vendor.

Least expensive way if you are staying with the Crosman plastic breech is to use the 1377 barrel and the 1377 barrel band. If you are using a steel breech you can cut off the barrel mount you have & free float the barrel with a FO 760 sight.
