Well, I am tired of the all weather synthetic stock on my trail np, and am going to put a nitro venom stock on it. Is there any advantages to either the wood or synthetic? I'm not after looks, I'm just curious if one is sturdier than the other, or if there is any performance advantage to one or the other.

Ed, when I went shopping last spring I opted for the Nitro Venom over the Nitro Venom Dusk. My choice was based on less than favorable reviews of the synthetic stock. I don't remember the issue but it may have had to do with the plastic compressing more under pressure. I just recall better reviews for the wood stock model.
Fortunately stocks are not that expensive and it's an easy swap.

I have a Trail NP which had the AW plastic stock when I got it. One of the very first things I did was replace that with the wood Trail NP thumbhole stock which was a big improvement and felt much better in the hand. I don't recommend that stock though, it's just much better (for me) than the plastic version. The wood version of the Trail has slightly better ergonomics than the plastic one.
I have a Venom Dusk and I like the fit of this stock MUCH better than the Trail stocks and the plastic stock on this is actually okay. I have to get a wood Venom stock for my Trail so I can compare them but IMO for these stocks it comes down to looks and use. So far my airguns live in the house and in a padded hard case but if I was going to be toting them around loose or in the woods much I'd probably go for the plastic Dusk stock.
It's different from person to person but for me the ergonomics of the Venom style stock is miles ahead of the Trail thumb hole.
I kept my plastic stock BTW. It's a good bit heavier than the wood stocks are and once I feel I have the gun dialed in as good as I can get it and that I'm shooting consistently I'm going to swap back and see if I can shoot at least as well with the heavy stock. I'll need to adjust of course but I'm wondering if the heavier stock will reduce motion at the muzzle any.

I know this is totally off topic but on my np I put a stoeger camp stock on it

I am open to all options. I will look I to it. Did you have to modify the camp stock to make it work? Which model is it off of?

Meant to say and no it's fit fine for me

You can also look at the Regal/Summit stock, high gloss non-thumb hole wood stock. I ordered a Trail wood stock for my Regal last week, I like most thumb hole stocks, if I don't like it I'll just put the original back on.

I had a trail NP with aw stock. I put a Remington summit stock on it. it looks great. however, I have since put that stock on a titan, and sold the trail with the AW stock. if you decide sell your AW stock, pm me please.
here's a picture of the trail in a summit stock

Did you have to cut the front of the stock to accommodate the sling mount?
-
No Sir, it was a direct swap, perfect fit.
-
Well you got some options
-
Well I'll take a couple days and figure out what stick I want to replace it with. Why can't these things have options like a 10/22? Lol. Sam, if I decide to get rid of the all weather stock you'll be the first to know

Received my nitro venom stock today. First off, crosman customer service is great. Ordered last Tuesday and arrived today! Now to the stock... What a difference it makes offhand shooting. Much better feel. I am not as accurate shooting from the bench as I was with the all weather pistol grip stock though. Probably because of the lighter weight of the nitro venom stock. Now I just need a new trigger.
-
u prolly already no tht...but get the GRT III trigger
-
Any idea of how much lighter the wood Venom stock is compared to the Dusk synthetic?
-
The synthetic is pretty light... I can't see a wood stock being noticeably lighter.
