Title: Parts interchangeability
Post by: silent_airman on October 04, 2013, 01:08:33 PM
I have a 24" .22 Crosman barrel. Can this and a steel breech for a 2240 be used on a Disco? How about a 2240 bolt probe?  ???

Hi George,
Yes to all.  The Discovery has a sleeve that sits forward of the breech for the purpose of mounting the rear open sight, but that is one of the biggest differences.  It is a separate part, and if you aren't using open sights it probably won't matter to you.  The standard 2240 bolt probe is slightly shorter than the Disco bolt probe, but it will work.  I've swapped parts back and forth, and they worked for me.  Performance might not be optimal, but the parts will fit.

Cool. I am thinking of building one slowly, as funds become available, even with used parts if I have to. I already have a barrel and steel breech, as well as an extended probe. A fun winter project.

Cool.  I'm looking at a 2260 HPA project.  I have an "extra" Disco tube if you are interested, complete with valve, gauge and gauge block.
