Title: HW97 Owners, Advice please
Post by: snakebite4767 on September 17, 2013, 08:01:59 PM
I have a Leapers UTG 3-12x44 AO Rifle Scope (11.1") ordered for my new Beeman HW97K. I also have some cheap rings coming just to get me going.. but would like some advice as to what is the best setup to go with for mounting my scope on this gun. I will appreciate your advice and or input.

Thanks
Snakebite

Hey Snake. I went with double strap BKL rings. Haven't budged after 1,000 shots. I have a Sidewinder 6-24x56 which is heavier than your scope. Great mounts.
Mine has a nice snap when firing so keep an eye out for scope walk.

I am using Burris Signature rings on my 77. Holding up fine.

I have the Leapers one piece mounts on my HW97 and TX200.  No problems with either one.  Available in 1" or 30mm. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/leapers-accushot-1-pc-mount-w-1-rings-high-11mm-dovetail?a=636 (https://www.pyramydair.com/product/leapers-accushot-1-pc-mount-w-1-rings-high-11mm-dovetail?a=636)

Me too, over 18 months and no slip. I do think the two piece may look better with these giant scopes but this Leapers $15 special do work just fine.

those guns don't have enough recoil to worry about to make the scope move IMO, I have used nothing but the Leapers UTG 2 piece ring sets w/stop pin and have never had an issue with anything on these rifles and that's even dragging out in the woods and hunting with them, the Leapers rings are rock solid and cost a whole lot less then most of the other brands, JMO :P

The Leapers rings with the stop pin may seem cheap, but same as Mark above I am using a pair and they have yet to demonstrate any movement or looseness after use.

They are very surprisingly well done for such cheaply priced rings, and seem to hold on as tight as you could want on a medium recoiling springer.

+1 on BKL mounts.  I have the same ones except in black and they are the best mounts I've ever used.

Tried to find those BKL mounts in Black 11 mm, with 30 mm rings..... as USUAL, PA has them on back order... I've tried to buy 2 guns, scopes, mounts and more from them in the last two months ... it seems that EVERYTHING I've tried to order has been out of stock.... I sure hope that they get some inventory back after this move.

I got the black rings directly from BKL when PA was on backorder, but they are even out of stock at BKL now.
