Title: stoeger is a fine company to deal with concerning their 2 year warranty
Post by: robert w on September 10, 2013, 10:40:40 PM
my stoeger x5 was shooting about as good as could be asked for. but sunday evening I cocked it and it made a twangy sound. shot went wild. cocked again , same thing.i opened it up and seen the piston spring broke in the piston area 1 full coil. I heated it up and bent it flat, ground the edges down, tarred the ends and put it back together . shoots just ok. today I called stoeger and got warrantys and claims department. I told the person what happened, expecting to hear no deal you opened it up. wrong the guy said give me your serial number and we can do 1 of 2 things, ship back to us , or we will send you a new spring if you can put it in or get somebody to do it . I replied yes I can put it in. he got my current address and phone number and email. he then said you will be getting a new spring in the mail in the next 5 days. I thanked him and told him id be happy to pay something. he said no its covered. I told him ive shot the gun a LOT . he said well get it fixed and shoot a lot more . now if some of the big named companys would wake up to this kind of service. I was thinking about another spring gun. mabe I need to give stoeger another bit of my $$$. im very well pleased with the outcome of how I was treated . the man also ask me how I liked the x5? I told him its a nice smooth shooting gun that is very accurate for its size and a great gun for the price

Glad to hear about your good dealings with Stoeger. My x20 was the first airgun I purchased when I was an adult (30 year gap since the last one) and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and accuracy of the gun.

Robert you are 100% right about their warranty.

I bought my X20 .177 as a combo and I noticed after shooting it for about a month a top screw had fallen out of one of the top clamps for the scope. I called them to ask if I could purchase a couple of screws from them and they said "we don't sell the screws we will just send you a new scope!" What? I received a brand new 3 x 9 40 AO AND another one piece mount. I couldn't believe it!

Well a couple of weeks go by and the eye piece on the replacement was getting loose and when I tightened it the "Stoeger" label was upside down. I called them again and they sent me another scope out. I told them I never got an address to send the first scope back to them and they told me not to worry about the 1st scope OR the 2nd scope!!

I now have 3, 3x9 40 AO Stoeger scopes all that work perfect! I mounted the extra ones on my QB78D .22 and one on my 10/22 Ruger PB.

You can't beat their friendly staff or their no questions ask warranty department.

Plus, they are IMO quality well built guns and accurate.

Ed

well I don't have any bad to say about them. my x5 has had the pee pee shot out of it and a spring can break at any time . it didn't bother me knowing its been shot a lot. I told the claims person that and his reply , simple " did you buy it to look at or shoot " I replied shoot, he said put the spring back in it and shoot a lot more . very nice dealings I must say. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another stoeger . another point your machine is only as good as your dealer . stoeger is in the great dealer side

That's good news to hear, Robert. I've heard others say the same. You say you have shot the X5 a "lot". Approximately how many rounds would you estimate that you have through her?
