Hey all, I've been looking around the forum here and couldn't seem to find anything,. But what are your pellet stocks and collections, how many, how you store them? I've only roughly 800, but will soon get a pellet sampler and start to stock up. Pictures are encouraged! Thanks for taking the time!
-
A little over 100K pellets here. Most are pellets that shoot best out of one of my guns. I seen the prices of pellets starting to go up a couple of years ago and stocked up before they got sky high.
I just stack them on a shelf.
-
I burn about a 1000 pellets a month so its hard to keep a large stockpile.

+1! ;) ;D

ok, i probably have the least amount of pellets in my possession than anyone here LOL
2 pellets for the .25
and 9 pellets for the .22
:)
but waiting on my PA order to get here
-
I probably have between 4-5K. I have no idea how many I shoot a day, but once my range is ready I will shoot more. Some days I do not shoot, so my stockpile should last awhile. I keep my pellets in a box under my bed or in my range box.

about 1500 of whatever non daisy stuff can be bought at walmart CPHS,CPPs, Benji sampler some, Gamos with plastic tips and some plastic with copper tips...ikeep the tins in the backpack I use for a shooting bag.
everytime I look at buying some decent ammo I look at the shipping and think about them ol CPHPs for the .22
but the current tin has been odd compared to the last tin...some pellets big enough to be .25 (wouldn't fit in the .22
unless i hammered them in) most are very oversize and they shoot badly hit some where on a 6" bull at 25yds. last
can I got down below 3/4" on occasion with an inch being typical.
my cousin's kid gets the oddball stuff in .177. the are a lot of pellets I'd rather have for the cost of the stuff he buys
-
I am relatively new to this and have been testing lots of pellets in my new marauder .22 but I have transferred many of the smaller tins to one of those small parts boxes (Plano?) with I believe 5 slots and a snap type closure. All the slots are labeled as to brand, size, weight.
I have also recycled some of the crosman tins since they have threaded tops.
The tins also work nice for earphones and charging cables!

We checked the various corners in the PelletMania armory and found a few. At best
guess looks like our munitions store holds approx. 32,000 rounds. 4K more are on the
way from PA.
Here's one box full:

You can inspect the rest that we found here: http://pelletmania.com/Lots-O-Lead.html (http://pelletmania.com/Lots-O-Lead.html)

11,000 and counting... but only the stuff that shoots well out of my 3 toys...
-
About 600 CPHP currently. Going to school so money is tight. And I love to shoot every single day, so I burn through what little I have pretty quickly. I might break into cactusrat's house and borrow some of his... ;-)

Personally shoot BR & HFT competition, so find a GOOD pellet you stock up on that LOT # best you can afford.
Secondly, they don't spoil, but do go up in price near yearly.
Get some extra money you take advantage of a deal like PA just had over the weekend of 10% + free shipping on $150 orders it is a No Brainer to make a pellet order !!
+ more guns you have that prefer different food ... bigger the pantry ::)

My take on pellets is once you find a pellet your gun likes, buy as many and as often as you can afford to. As many shooters have found out the hard way, once the dies change, the new pellet will not be the same. Then the search begins all over. That being said, here's most of what I have
.177
Beeman Crow Magnum 500 ct - 25 tins
Beeman FTS 500 ct - 15 tins
Preds - 20 tins
.20
Beeman FTS - 200 ct - 30 tins
Preds - 150 ct - 10 tins
.22
JSB 15.9 - 500 ct - 134 tins All red/gray tins
H&N FTT - 500 ct - 36 tins All old snap on lid
Preds - 200 ct - 20 tins
.25
JSB Kings - 350 ct - 70 tins
Preds - 150 ct - 14 tins

If that's really the case then I'm pretty much screwed cause FTT is the ONLY pellet in the appropriate weight that my P rod shoots. ??? I mean is it that drastic of a change when dies are replaced? Could explain why I had a garbage day at the 100 yard range with my disco and JSB 18's today, brand new tin and poor groups where before I was getting 1" and sometimes under small groups pretty often.
-
About 25,000 right now. 20,000 for shooting and 5000 for testing. PA's 4 for 3 is a great way to build up a supply. Every order I place I get a new tin or two for trials. Once you find your pellet, order a couple of sleeves at a time and get the free shipping.

JSB and H&N recently changed their tins. JSB went from the red/gray tins to red/black in the 15.9. A lot of people said the accuracy changed with the new tins of pellets. No one knows for sure whether they changed dies or not. All of my 15.9's are red/gray tins. When I heard of the accuracy issues, I tried some pellets out of a black/red tin. They were accurate, but not as accurate as the red/gray tins. H&N changed to a screw top. When this happened, there were also concerns that accuracy had declined. I tried some pellets from a new tin and noticed not very much difference. Dies wear out from use. When new dies are made, chances are they won't be identical to the old die. What size H&N's are you shooting out of your Prod? I'm using 5.53. One of my friends is using the 5.53 in the new screw on tins and he is not having any accuracy problems. PA did have a shipment of bad FTT's. The pellets were damaged but they sent them back to H&N and got another shipment.

I shoot the 5.53 also, literally just opened my new tin and they all appear fine to me. I'll have to shoot a group tomorrow and see how they compare.
Loving the new screw on lid fat boy 500 tins! ;D

True dat. Lead has quite the shelf life. Like I tell my wife when she complains about me trying to stock up on anything, "Do you think they'll be cheaper later?" Not likely.
-
right now all i have is 1 175 count Crosman "Pointed" pellets tin, "pointed" because they seem more like domes, if pointed then only slightly, i havent been able to get enough shots in after sighting in because the scopes reticule turned so bad its unusable, to determine if they actually group decent, so i stopped shooting and half somewhere around half the tin left, hopefully next time i will at least be able to see if they group halfway decent before the scope gets ruined.
the gun was BNIB, so still in the process of getting broken in, but im loving it so far, its just that its a new model (its the legacy "Jim Shockey Signature" or JSS for short, minus the logo, sling mounts and with a more basic scope, relabeled the Genesis) and needs a good review (i like reviews done by AirGunWeb, informative and truthful telling you the good and the bad, what shoots best for accuracy, realistic FPS/FPE numbers, noise level, price point; in short everything) and before i shoot too extensively i need a good scope that hopefully will last and if it doesnt, then can be replaced for free under warranty.
oh, and i think i said it before, but just in case, its a NP .22 cal.
-
About 10,000. 7,000 .177, 3,000 .22. Didn't realize I was that low, note to self, call PA tomorrow! A guy can NEVER have enough of those JSB's 8.44 on hand. :-[

I've been working on building my armory, but that has to go on hold for awhile. Home improvements taking precedence. Just about broke too. Hope I don't have to sell any guns. :(

Currently I have about 5,000 pellets consisting of 8 different types. I'll be placing an order for more shortly as I shoot a lot more in the cooler months. Just store my tins in an old shoe box except for a tin of Superdomes which is always close to my RWS 34.
-
I think I have 15-20 pellet types in both .22 and and .177. Most of them shoot like &^^&. I started with the cheap pellets and have slowly been collecting/trying more in my search for the "best" pellet in each gun. I can tell you, most of the time you can skip the cheap stuff and go straight to JSB or H&N. I wish I had, I would have saved myself lots of time, effort, and a little $.

This thread got me wondering ......I stopped counting at 150,000.
Dang I'm getting low on ammo. :o

I hear you, Pete.
But I only have nearly a 100 grand. That's only three years or less of plinking!
And what if the poop really hits the fan? I'll be eatin' wildlife for sure, despite my current
No Kill policy.

Ditto!
BTW: Don't stand too near the fan!

I'm at 3 to 4 thousand and growing. I expect there's going to be a run on pellets because of what's going on in California. I assume there going to ban them along with bullets? Do any of you know?

The only thing California legislators no about pellets is the residue from Brer Wabbit! Give them time. They will get around to it.
-
no time to count the tins, have them stored in four different places, plus ordered 16 tins of kodiak from pa with thier friday the 13 discount and 4 for 3 deal. last gun from pa came with 20 tins and about every time i go to wally world pick up 5-10 tins. being retired i spend anywhere from 2=4 hours a day shooting.
-
Wow I'm very jealous of the 100k+ pellet inventories some of you have! If and when any shtf event happens, those types of supplies will really help. I want to start up those kind of numbers, good to just have too nonetheless.
-
and here I was thinking I was bad with ~32k pellets in my inventory :), thinking of making an order through PA for .20 pellets...
-
No wonder there are shortages in some types of pellets, like FT. 100k+? This is what has happened with 22LR ammo. Stop hoarding and leave some for the rest of us! >:(
-
yeah what he said!..
remember what your Mom said about sharing...LOL
all i want is 50 or 60 tins of what ever will shoot ½" 100 shot groups out of my AG
at any yardage I want, at any time I want, in any conditions, every time,
with ME shooting it!
and when i'm sober.... a couple tins of FTT 5.53s would tickle me pink all over
