Title: New 98 blooded!!! Nutter noggin pass thru!!
Post by: palonej on August 29, 2013, 10:32:13 PM
Picked up a new HW 98 that Motörhead made magical!!
What an awesome rifle!! She's shooting JSB Express 7.87 at 920 and putting them right where you want them.......very consistently. Was shooting a 30 yard bench rest target today and this little fellow got curious. As I was loading he retreated to 50 yards, right next to my 50 yard target tree.
Feeling safe at that distance, he turned his back to me......very rude!!! I gave a short whistle, he lifted his head and I let fly. The pellet entered right between his ears at the base of his skull and exited out his right eye......exactly where aimed. 2 shakes of the tail then still.
This rifle is so solid, quiet, powerful and laser accurate that it's hard to put down. What a pleasure....not so much for this tree rat tho!!!

Nicely done. What zoom on the scope did you use for the head shot?

Hey Gil. When shooting targets at 50 yards usually between 14 & 16 mag. Scope is a Sidewinder 6.5-20.

Awesome shot Joe, especially with a break barrel.
Critters beware.
Jerry!!! You would be amazed at how accurate this break barrel is bro!!

He has this gun set up beautifully Jim!!! Both of us were very impressed with it. Awesome rifle!!

TOUGH choice Mike!! 98 just as accurate as the TX and a bit more powerful. TX bluing MUCH deeper. TX stock more comfortable to shoot and prettier. Neither is pellet fussy. Both shoot great from a bag. Both triggers are absolutely amazing.
I can't choose bro!!!!
