Title: RWS 93/Cometa 300 trigger modification?
Post by: NickB79 on July 23, 2013, 08:51:49 AM
Just curious if there's an easy way to lighten the trigger pull on my RWS 93 (a rebadged Cometa 300).  Say, perhaps, an aftermarket drop-in trigger like the CharlieDaTuna one I put in my Benjamin Trail?  Thanks!

I have had a RWS93 for around 3-4 years now. A lot of work to make it into what I wanted. I started out trying to hone the trigger and it did some good. But that trigger is made of about 3 layers of uneven stamped sheet metal. Very hard to work on but possible if you persist.

I finally used a Dremal with a sanding disc to get the angle on the sear I wanted. And hone all other contact points. And by shear luck I got a great trigger in the process. I also made a trigger shoe for it which helped a lot. It now has a clean breaking 1 1/2 lb pull. There is nothing I know available for Cometa rifles. You will just have to work on the trigger yourself or have some else do it. That also goes for springs and all other parts except for the seal. But a Crosman seal works and also springs.

In the process I also chopped a lot of wood of the stock, cut about 2 1/2" of the barrel, did complete tune and used a JM seal and a Crosman Storm spring with a couple coils cut off. It now shots a lot harder than new and weighs A LOT LESS and it's tack driver.

It's now one of my favorite rifles along with a RWS92 (Cometa) that's had a basic tune and can drive tacks also.
