Title: TX AntiBearTrap is non functional
Post by: JohnWI on July 17, 2013, 01:09:40 AM
Previous owner claims new in 06 and is box-stock.  Yet he wasn't sure what I was referring to when I questioned him.  Can this be "broken" by overpowering the cocking arm if you didn't use the release?  I know that on a D48 the result would be a bent cocking arm.

Would think someones done an ABT bypass mod of some sort ???
Being ABT catch is a mechanical snag of the retracted compression chamber X3 .... if the side release button/latch is no longer "Spring Loaded" would suspect tampering.
** Very very doubtful you could force close the breech without releasing the ABT latch

Do you have the gun fully cocked??? Both TX and 48/53/54 can result in a simular feeling.

Took action out and back into stock and now all's fine.  Clicks, A/BT works, practiced uncocking...All's good.  Wondering what gives?

Now to make the trigger crisp....right now it's creepy.  not worthy that you have to continually take the guard off and on to do this.

How tight do you guys screw the stock down.  The manual says not to crank it down.
