Ok. I did a search of GTA for a "Rear Replacement site for Quest 1000x" and came of with zero results. Could it be that I am the only one that thinks the site that come on the Quest 1000 is useless? I have put up with it for years, trying every thing (even super gluing it to keep it in place) to make do with it. But now it is completely broken and I need a replacement. I will not go back with the same piece of junk that came on it. I need a better rear site that will fit the Quest 1000X. Surely there are better options out there. And if anyone suggest a scope, I will virtually slap you! I want a rear iron site to replace the one that came on the quest. Thanks.

A Williams peep would be a far superior rear sight than the original rear sight. The problem is usually the gigantic front sights on these guns that prevent precise shot placement except at close range. Just my 2 cents.

I do not think there is a direct replacement. I had to adapt a Thompson Center Muzzleloader sight to mine. It is all metal, adjustable, and rock solid if mounted right. They are about $45. online. I made an adapter plate to fit the Quest breech block and mount holes, then mounted the sight to it. Takes some work but I love it. Will post some pictures later if you want to go to that much work.

Thanks for the replies guys. Anything will be better then what is on there now. This gun is really my son's who is 11. I need something that is rock solid and that is not easy to knock out of sight. I grew up with a gun in my hand and I thought my son would take after me, but these dang video games these days just destroy young peoples desire to do anything but sit in front of a TV. I decided to put my foot down and stop it and use his love of video games to teach him to hunt and also control the pest population. So now if he want to play video games, he has to go out and hunt something. I have a lot of gophers and blue cactus rats. He gets to play for 2 hours if he gets a gopher and 30 minutes for a rat. Call me creative. This why I need some good sights for his gun.

Here is a picture of my set up with Thompson Center rear sight, Muzzle break from a Remington Summit, and Williams ramp front sight. It's a Quest, but in a Gamo Hunter stock. Thanks for the pic. I really like it. Awful expensive though. Cost half as much as the gun just for the rear sight. There are several models as well. Which one did you use?

I found this sight at a gun show for $20 its plain with no glow dots. Gamo Usa has an adjustable sight that's mostly metal for less than $20 with free shipping. It mounts with one screw and one pin that sticks out below the base. It's for a Gamo 440, which I think the Quest is based on. You would have to drill a hole to accept this pin, but may be able to use existing screw hole. Maybe some one else knows for sure, but I have seen one of these and it looks to be possible.

Bought this Industry Brand Rear Field Sight for $14.99. It is solidly built and the windage and elevation adjustments are rock solid. It is a clamp on style and I need to make a adapter plate to make it work. Should not be that hard. I will post pictures when it is done.

I have the same issue, where did you pick up the industrial brand rear sight for $14.99?

From archer - airguns
But I think I have found an even better solution. I have an RWS model 36 that I bought in 1989. It has a really high quality sight that I have used for over 23 years. I checked it and discovered that it has the same mounting system and bold pattern as the Quest 1000X. Problem is, I have not been to locate a source for the RWS Mod 36 rear sight. I have no doubt that there must be a place to get replacement part for the Mod 36. If I could find one, it would bolt right to the Quest with no modification at all.

Not sure why, but the server is blocking the name of the place I bought the site and scrambling the URL every time I try to post it. Just go to google and type in. " Industry Brand Rear Field Sight". and it will be the first result. The name of the place is the other word for, "Bowman" airguns. You know, the word for bowman that starts with an "A". Stupid server!

Your Welcome. Have not been able to find a model 36 RWS rear sight, so I am still working making this other sight work.
