Any feed back on this gun?? Other than the synthetic stock which is not the good looking wood the gun in .177 looks like another HW that can be sprung up FOR MAX POWER and produce great target results.

What you wish to know ? ... My son has one in .177 that is tuned and massaged using a PG-2 kit.
-
I have had PB with stainless barrels and had good luck. How is this in the airgun? Achieving fps should not be an issue due to kits available or just buying the spring and doing your own guides. Just give me low down on the gun in general.
I have interest in getting one.
THANKS

First off ... they ARE NOT stainless but likely buff finish Nickle over there standard steel same as used on Blued models.
It is for anti corrosion / fingerprint / salt rust protection.
Built like a tank being a VERY heavy duty action and quite hefty being quite a muzzle heavy gun with the synthetic stock fitted.
Stock is a nice fit/finish being ambidextrous. It is hollow behind butt plate and likely that way for ability to fill with lead shot as a bench / Ft gun. As delivered guns so light at the butt area, muzzle feels heavy relative to a woody stocked one.
Doing a tune is rather difficult being the 77/97 action uses a screw on trigger block / end cap requiring you to use a solid and square end press that allows action rotation so cap can be unscrewed while under considerable spring tension.
Standard Rekord trigger unit & overall internal fit and finish HW typical stuff.
Muzzle break on the "K" version is an actual empty can that has a removable end cap. Can / *Suggest adding baffles or packing to further help the bark.
Anything else ... just ask ;)

Thanks!!
Was more or less what I thought other than they are advertising it as S/S.
I HAVE NI issues with the removal of the rear threaded end cap or the alignment on re install. I have had many syn stocks and the weight issue or stuffing is no big deal.
Main thing I am wondering of any cocking arm issues and the barrel seasons out.
-
Under lever mechanics are ROCK SOLID and very robust. Barrel is a SHORT little bugger but of very good quality.
Son is able to stack Nickle size groups at 40 yards pretty consistently with it. A VERY accurate spring gun in .177 caliber to be sure.
-
Mine came tuned with a shorter but fatter spring so it puts out stock power but cocks at around 48 pounds which is about 10 pounds over the original. No problems so far and is very nice.
As stated, it's a "stainless look." Stock is not wimpy like some plastics are. My buddy was just shooting at masking tape cut into squares..3/4," I think, and was doing about that at 50 yds and he insisted on resting it solidly on a boat cushion against my loose as a goose advice. We both were about as accurate as the other...filling in those squares using older FTS's.
-
Been looking at this gun also, but not too crazy bout the plasticky stock. AOA has the woody stock, but it's almost $900. Ouch

Just means more pool shootin Joe !!

Yup!!! Won a straight pool tourney Monday!!!! $800 for 1st!!! Almost there bro!!! All my pool winnings go towards feeding my air gun sickness!!!
-
Yes another have to research the gun prior to ordering.
Yes Stainless steel look!!! So, as said by others a s/s finish..
THE stock looks different for sure. Liking the TH but in wood better looking but much higher.
Stainless look? Nice but a finish? Another extra $.
I have one coming in the SS look in the .177. Blued would have been the better choice for the money. Same gun just a different look. $100 more for the look?
Looks like I will find out. Another TX might have been the better choice? Time will tell.

The HW97K is a bit stronger Shooter than the TX 200 by 1 1/2- 2 pounds energy in .177 cal BTW ;)
-
Thanks. Not a whole lot of difference. Much different as you know, in the design build between the 2.
How much have we spent on other guns to obtain that out of the gun in spring kits and personal work?
TX DESIGN is one of the easiest to work on. Not saying the HW is that bad. HWs are built to be a workhorse. Solid! !
-
Looks goes to the TX, but my 97K just seems to fit me better. Shorter cocking stroke and just seems like a more compact package. Hate to know I had to choose between the two. Mine is stock, cant imagine after a tune, tell us about your 97K after you go through it Fang. ( cause you know you will ) HA

Always been a fan of both wood and syn. Love the TH. ONLY DOWN FALL ON THIS IS I WAS TOLD BY OTHER PRIOR to ordering that it was a stainless look only. After the fact I realized they were correct. I have had PB in stainless and liked them. The SS LOOK was not worth the extra $$$. The TX wood even not in walnut is fantastic. Plus the Pro sport and Tx have the Lw barrel. But the Hw has a great barrel as well.
Sold both the 54s and 1 350 so I can justify a replacement. LOL I DID NOT SHOOT THEM THAT MUCH SO MIGHT AS WELL LET SOMEONE ENJOY THEM. The .20s have just taken over me. I shoot them more than the others and then the TX came do it is in the mix as well. The new 52 .25 Vortek/ FANG has been worked over and shoots great now but is on the back burner.
So many choices in my Pack. 8)

Ever think about getting a 97k in .20 ?? LOVE mine !
-
Though about it but the Hw80 in .20 is great. The 48 .20 and then the true magnum 350 in 20 is by far a beast. The 350 is a needle gun on impact and exit. Proper placement and the show is over. Got the B40 project still waiting on the lw bareel. Then the HW97K WAS JUST A FILL IN OF A GREAT GUN AND THE .177 HAS SO MUCH IN LEAD TO OFFER. Got plenty of the pack to kill with.
-
Sitting here in the waiting stage? :- :o\
Looks like Tuesday the new pup will be here.
After selling 2 fantastic guns and another fine 350 I sit I dismay. :o Making room for more different styles and nothing in my hand. Well that is false. Plenty good ones to play with and still new.
Seen the used sales and yes the HW97 .20 MILLINEUM does catches the eye.
No activity to make a choice today on the any gun other than the new Hw97k. I'm sure I will like the 97k gun and then being HOOKED, want another diffetent gun.LMBO

I got joe and fang hypnotized now. they wany and will get. hey its fun spending you 2's $$$ we gotta love it here . joe and fang didn't show up for spring guns anymonus the last month and look where its got them . both are looking for a fix haha
-

Just can't help myself!!
-
CHASED THE TRUCK DOWN!! CAUGHT IT!!! 8)
Only had time to open up the box's and take a look. WOW!!! The gun looks SWEETTT!!! With out holding in my hands and can say on the first impression I am exited!!! This baby is padded for shipping for not getting damaged!!
Just hope I feel that way after I get home and play.
Now if the other HW97 .20 LOOKS anything near this one the week will have been made. ;)
