That's a nice looking rifle, and the memories that go with it..................
I can't blame you one bit for having a soft spot for it, thanks for sharing it with us!!

That's special sentimental value right there! Makes the rifle priceless!
-
Robert, that's a fine rifle, and a priceless one at that! ;)
-
A fine AR with memories. Doesn't get any better than that.

very nice Robert! ;D :P

thanks guys . dad died 10 years later so its NOT FOR SALE. I got the second 1 because I like how they shoot . I shoot the 1 in the photos a very little , just enough to keep the seal soft and work some silicone oil in it. the other hw is a little rough , mabe 60-70% quality and it gets shot a lot . but I sent weihrauch several photos of this gun. they were impressed as to how well kept it is. and they sent me a cap and a tack pin too. I posted in the back room about that .but great guns are always nice to have and im sure others here have some like that too

thank you bill. i see you have a stoeger x20. how do you like it? i have a stoeger x5 and i realy like it.

I like my X20 a heap! Like many, when powder ammo got in short supply, I turned to airguns. The X20 in .22 was my first "modern" airgun, and luckily, I got a good one. It hits really hard, is very accurate, is the desired weight for me, looks good and is compact at 43 inches. I have over 6000 rounds through it now, and is basically tuning itself through repetitious shooting and lube in the right places. It has a smooth cocking and shot cycle with NO twang. I do want another air rifle as a backup in case the X20 spring breaks or ever needs a seal. I'm most likely going to get an RWS 34 to add to my collection. I can hardly wait to see if it can be that much better than the X20! When my LP8 arrives, I am going to put one of my camouflage paint jobs on the Stoeger. :-)

Great story. I wish I still had the guns of my past that got away for one reason or another.

joe, everybody this is about as good as it gets for shooting 10 meters . it will stack about any pellet you feed it and so smooth to shoot. the rekord trigger is absolutely the bees knees . if you miss with her its not the guns fault or pellets either just the holder . I just wish they still made them that good today and not askin an arm n leg for 1 either

Robert, an outstanding air rifle! I have had a soft spot for the HW 55 for many years, it is my favorite all-round air rifle period...to the point that my friends are sick of my yakking about 'em, I guess! But I very much understand the affection you have for yours.
I also still own the first air rifle my dad found for me, in my case a Benjamin 347 that Santa left under the tree in 1968!
Thanks for sharing this special piece with us.
