Title: Watching a thread got me to thinking
Post by: Booger on June 26, 2013, 09:37:25 PM
I have been watching a thread about Weihrauch having QC problems, and it got me to thinking. I have been watching the classifieds and I have noticed a few TX200MK3's for sale, but I have not noticed as many HW97K's for sale. These 2 guns compare fairly even from what I have read, but it seems people try to hold on to their HW97K while giving up their TX200's. Personally I love my TX200's and I am really beginning to wonder what I am missing out on. Now this has no bearing at all for my lust of an RWS-56. LOL

Never owned or even shot a TX but I can tell you this. I bought Helga (HW97K .177) a couple of years ago from AoA. She sports a nice wooden dress and right from the box, she was a tack driver at 25-35 yards. And still is. She is a bit heavy but I would not sell her for anything!!!! She just has more there to love.

Been noticing that, too, but my first assumption was that some shooters might have expected the TX to shoot for them, and once they realized greater accuracy requires greater marksmanship,  their passion waned...

...and then I thought, "Maybe they just need the money?"  Hahahaha

Interesting observation... For myself, I have an HW77, HW97KT and TX200.  If I were to rank them in order of favorite in terms of accuracy and general fun to shoot:
#1 would be my HW77.
#2 TX200
#3 HW97
I'd part with my 97 long before the 77 or TX.

So that's kind of opposite of the trend, BUT.... both my HW77 and TX200 are early MK1 models. The craftsmanship and fit&finish on those are night and day better than my new HW97. I'm assuming most of the stuff in the classifieds are MK3 models. But your observation is certainly interesting nonetheless.

I just noticed another TX200 for sale. I wish I could find another good PCP or a 54 for sale, but that needs to wait for at least 2 or 3 weeks so I could afford to buy one. LOL
