Title: Getting a SCBA tank filled?
Post by: ZERO2005 on June 16, 2013, 12:39:59 PM
I'm looking at getting a 4500 SCBA tank with a CGA-347 for all my HPA needs, but I need places to get it filled.

Called the local Paintball field,  and the guy told me that i'm speakin chinese when talkin about the valve, and that the valves he fills is just "regular ole paintball valve" and for "3 dollars" a refill, and it being about 5 minutes away, i'd say thats pretty awesome value if i can get it filled there.

I also sent an email out (tried calling, noone answered) to the local volunteer fire station down the road to see if they have a fill station.

Just wondering if I have a SCBA w/ 347 valve, what sort of adapter i would need to get it filled at the paintball field? anyone else get their fills at paintball shops?

Also, looking at getting a Condor, what sort of adapter is needed to fill it from an SCBA tank, and/or run tethered?
and same thing for the Marauder...

called a couple of them, all the ones i called want a dive card, and most only fill to 3000. and they're also about 30-45 minutes away from where i'm at.

most HPA paintball tanks fill through a Foster quick disconnect right? so all i'd need fill station hose and a "male-to-male" adapter?

i have a joe brancato tank with the din-300 valve, and i get my tank filled at the local fire station,

i had to buy a firehouse adapter for my tank to fit their system,

not cheap for the little adapter,
but its already paid for itself after 3 fills by not making me drive 40 miles one way to fill my tank at a scuba shop
(not many of those around here LOL)

the marauder and condor (if it has the spin-loc tank) both have the same foster fitting for filling,
so both will fill with the same hose assembly.

you cant go wrong calling joe brancato and asking questions about tanks/valves/adapters.

and your best bet would be to stop into the local fire station and ask if they fill their breathing tanks on site.

my local station charges me nothing for a fill,
so most of the time i grab a pizza or some pastrys or something as a thankful gesture.

all the tanks i'm looking at are used SCBA tanks, with the CGA-347 valve, which from what i understand, is a firefighter adapter. Assuming I get a response from the local fire stations, i should be able to get it filled there no adapter? then i'd just need the line to adapt from the SCBA to a quick disconnect for the Condor/Mrod?

should be able to.

if thats the case all you would need is a fill hose,

again i would recommend joe brancato, his hoses are top of the line.

and he can tell you without a doubt what fittings will work for you.

his number,
