Hi All,
Just thought I'd announce a new toy in the fold. My green stock AA 500 carbine. No pics yet. Busy working.
Got the barrel cleaned (it wasn't bad, you know), and scope mounted. I have so many sets of rings and one piece mounts I need to get more PCPs. But not yet. Wife thinks I'm done.
I had an accushot Leapers 30mm 4-12 compact scope. No bad so far. Was just sitting around from one of my purchase frenzies. Mounted with medium rings and rides close to the shroud.
I first tried to zero starting at 50 yards - Ok you can stop laughing. I corrected that and moved to 20 yards, and had it dialed by 4 shots.
Went back to my balcony perch and shot more from 50 and did some dialing. Got it wired and move to a new target - center of bullseye first shot.
Gun is light, quiet, and I don't need an LDC I'm thinking. Mostly cuz right now the clang of the pellet hitting the metal trap is waaay louder than the pop of the pellet leaving the barrel.
Nearly got a squirrel on my first troll around, but the stalking was the issue tonight. Need to find a better approach on this fur ball.
I really like the weight - I know I said that - the accuracy, ease of shooting. Gun came full charged from Pyramid Air. I've got the Joe Brancato fill setup that is like the bomb, and heavy duty and a bit 'spensive.
Pictures will come....
Oh, and I still say the safety is in a stupid place on the trigger. But whatever, I can adapt.
