I bought a walnut thumb hole stock for my Disco that was made for a high powered rifle. The barrel bed for the is to big and I'm looking for what would be the best cheep thing to fill it with to fit the Disco tube. I was thinking about either cloth impregnated with epoxy or the spray that is used for filling cracks around doors and windows. I hope this the right place for this question. If not I'm sure someone will tell me. Thanks

Depends on the equipment you have available and your actual skill level with these tools. But a couple of things come to mind. Possibly glue in a wooden dowel that fits the inlet. Then route it out for the Disco. Think it's 1" tube? Know the MRod is 1-1/2" inlay. Another option in my head is a piece of black PVC pipe, doing the same as the wooden dowel. Get a piece with the ID of the Disco tube. Glue it inside the channel then cut it down...or possibly slice it in half before laying it in the stock. Touch up as needed to smooth everything out aesthetically.
Just a couple of thoughts.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!

Don't know how much you have to build up, but it's pretty easy to use today's fiberglass kits, if it's not too much and the profile is close. Paint it Black and the lines should look functionally clean against the Walnut.

A lot depends on how much you have to build up. Gluing in a dowel then gouging it out to the proper diameter/depth is an option if there's a lot of slop to take up. If you use the Acraglass kit from Brownells or something similar you can wind up with a very nice, smooth junction between the stock and the barrel.

There are videos on Youtube that show the process of bedding a barrel/action with Acraglass and such.

Then there's always that. LOL
I'd probably make a mess out of the glass, resin and glueing. I'm better with routing.....no gouging.

Thanks I'll look it all over. I have a router but have used it only once. Just got a used router table and a guide at a flea market maybe it will give me a chance to use it. Really really slow.

I used body filler to bed my QB57 into a new stock. Once I set a few stop points to locate the receiver in the stock I wrapped the receiver with saran wrap and painters tape, I put a long set screw where the fastening bolt would go and then filled the stock with body filler and pressed the receiver in till it bottomed it out. I did it in several applications to beat the set up time of the body filler. I screwed up once but I could tell right away and it was easy to clean out and retry.
