My new .22 QB57 was shooting about 6" high at 30 yards with the front adjusted up about as far as it would go. So, I took a 1/8" drill and made a peep below the notch on the rear flip-up. That puts it back in the range of the front adjustment, AND I like peep sights for relatively close ranges! 8)

Cannot beat that price!
What do you think of that gun? Shot it much?
-
I like it. It seems to be very accurate, if a little lower power than I usually go for. I've put about 120 shots through it so far. I'm impressed. The wood, fit & finish are better than I expected from a $79 gun. It's cool that you can swap barrels, too. The bullpup design is not as loud as I thought it would be, with you ear right over the piston. Trigger pull is really long, but easy, and it breaks clean. It's fun to shoot! Oh, yeah--- the peep sight mod is where it's at for shooting!
-
cool, i'm going to do that on mine now :)

I'd recommend going even a bit lower than I did, if yours is shooting as high as mine.
-
oh yeah, did you know the front sight is adjustable? It is threaded and can be screwed up or down
-
Yeah, that was part of the problem--- I had already adjusted the front as far as I could go and it was still shooting too high. I had read somewhere about a guy who had broken his rear sight and just filed a notch in the stub that was left, and it actually made the adjustment better. I think he ended up fabbing an aluminum rear sight that was shorter than the OEM sight.

I had considered buying a peep that fit onto a dovetail but this seems almost as good (or better since its free) 8)
i drilled mine out yesterday just like yours and fitted a small length of brass tube in the hole to make the circle clean and even. so i ended up with a hole a little smaller than 1/8. It seems to work pretty well but it was too windy yesterday to do much good testing. I did get a pretty tight group offhanded shooting at 10 yards though. With a scope it can do less than dime sized at the same distance. It shot a little high but im betting at 20-25 yards it might be right on :)
Btw mine is .177

I'm up to about 250 shots through it now. It's good enough to hit a 12 oz can endwise at 30 yards nearly every shot, just with the peep sight. All I've put through it are Crossman Hollow Points so far.
