Title: Pellet Recommendations for FX Gladiator
Post by: MarcusAurelius on May 19, 2013, 11:42:31 PM
Hi guys. I have just ordered the FX Gladiator and looking for pellets that are ether hollow point or round point. As for the weight I am not sure what would work best for a .22 cal Gladiator. Obviously 14-18 gr is normal but what is the point of 20-30 gr?

Cheers

So Mr. Rob,

Are pcps way less sensitive to pellet choice? Cause iv seen alot of people recommend the JSBs when shooting pcps. And why would one want to shoot a 28 gr pellet? is it just for energy?

Thanks

The fx Smooth twist barrels, really like the JSB pellets. The better quality barrels are less pellet fussy.
With PCP'S heavier pellets, work better at delivering more enrgy to the target, where as with a springer you will tax the machine and cause it to break.
The heaviest I have used so far is the JSB 18.13gr, seeing I do not have a single shot tray, I can't use the real heavy pellets as they do not fit in the magazine.

I have tried the gamo TS22, they are a 22gr pellet, there BC is much lower then the JSB's 18.13.
So down range the JSB will retain more energy then the heavier pellet.
A heavy pellet with a good BC (like the JSB)will retain its energy better, then a heavier pellet with a poor BC.
