Title: Question on everybody's favorite...Winchester 1000X
Post by: DM on May 19, 2013, 10:03:27 AM
Hello, I am getting ready to order a new piston seal / breach seal / and spring for my 1000X from jg airguns. My question is, does anybody know what size the piston seal is? Also is this the best option for parts for this rifle?

Thanks folks,

Devon

The reason I ask if anybody know the seal size is because I'm wondering if its the same as my hatsan striker 1000s. Which I'm have no luck finding a seal for.

Thanks,
Devon

Devon, I have several of these in my herd. But it's been a while so I'm not going to guess at the exact size of the seal. What I CAN do is measure one tomorrow when I can get down to my shop. I have bought some 95a urethane and cut my own seals. I also have bought from James Maccari. But John at JGAirguns carries the spring, seals and a few other select parts. You won't go wrong with either supplier.
I'll make the exact measurement tomorrow and post it. If you shoot pete (kiwi Pete) a pm, he can probably answer that question rather quickly. He has made a ton of seals for these.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!

Thank you Dave, that is very kind of you. I didn't know JM carried a seal for it. Is it one of the ones in the three pack?

Measured a tube and ID is 1.059". The seals I cut are 1.056" OD.
Hope that helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  :D. That's a tremendous amount of help. From what someone else measured the  Hatsan striker 1000S seal is 26.75mm or 1.053 OD.  I'm thinking the 1000X and 1000S seals are pretty much the same. I could be wrong though.

Should be fine, especially with the parachute lip.

thank you so much for helping out a newb Dave! I'm going to order the seals you listed from JM and seals and spring from JG as well. That way I should be able to get them both going no matter what. Now I just need to figure out what seal JM carries is right for my Crosman .22 Nitro Venom and I can order.

sorry one more newb question than I hope Im done, lol

I just noticed that the seals you made are 1.056 and the one you listed from JM is 1.150. So depending on my tube size I may have to do some seal sizing correct? I may just order two seals from JM instead of one from both places, since they are a few bucks cheaper through JM.

Thanks for help again

Yep, very possible you would have to do some sizing. I have never had to with a JM seal though.
