Post by: Addictedtoair on April 29, 2013, 04:42:28 PM
We've had some outstanding shooting this match. A special congratulations to Brushy Bill for his near perfect score and taking the gold. Sperho battled Kelrod for the Silver and won by one point! Great shooting gentlemen.

Great shooting everyone....Especially you, Bill  :D :D

Slowly getting the scores up. I've reached this mid-180's plateau I'm trying to get through right now. Enjoying these matches. Again, great shooting everyone!!!

Impressive scores!

Thanks for taking the time to coordinate these matches.  Haven't found anything locally and this prompts me to try and improve.  So we'll see if this old fart can pick things up a little.

Thank you friend,

You will get through the "plateau," and your scores will improve again.  But, it will only happen if you don't give up.
Just take your time while shooting, it is the littlest things that can make a difference.  Don't hesitate
to lower the rifle, take a few breaths, and start the shot sequence over again. Don't try to "force it to happen."
You will find that it is similar to a golf swing, the better shots that you make seems to require the least effort.

There are many times when I am shooting (especially standing) when even in high power, I never hear the shot go off.
I feel the trigger break, I hear the spring in the buffer tube "boinging" but I don't hear the shot. Even don't hear the
guy next to me shooting the 7mm mag. But, will hear when the range officer speaks up.

Many talk about "being in the zone" you will get there, it takes many many rounds to do it, but you will get there
if you don't give up.

Thank you very much, Bill. I have noticed if I am not "feeling" the shot. I do lower the rifle more and take a few extra breathes. Just to clear it out and un-tense any muscles that were tightening up during the shot. I try to shoot every day. Sometimes the weather here in Florida doesn't always allow for that.

I have been shooting at least 4 to 5 times per week. Each time putting a good amount of lead on target. On weekends I can easily shoot for hours on end while the wife is at work. Fun days there  ;D ;D Would be nice to have someone else to shoot with. Now that I have two rifles, trying to get some friends into it. If for nothing more than some conversation between shots. Our dogs hardly ever say anything back when I talk to them  :o
