Several days ago I ordered a Hatsan from a Florida dealer. After patiently waiting 6 days for a tracking number, I politely contacted (via email) the retailer - zip. So I sent another - zip again. So I picked up the phone and called - got dumped into voice messaging.... TWICE.
I'm generally a patient man, but I interpret perpetual silance (sp) as blatant disregard for paying customers - and my tolerance abruptly expires. This morning, I unloaded my concerns on my local bank, and they swiftly and politely rectified the problem. Once back home, I dialed up AOA and ordered a HW95. I sure hope this transaction goes more smoothly....

Question - I've heard rumors that some/many HW's have slightly looser barrels, preferring 'slightly' larger diameter pellets. Any truth?

AOA will treat you right!!

Think you made the right choice. Both dealer and brand probably would have been even more frustration had the transaction finally gone through. The HW will be a light years better gun.

Yes, my gut seems to agree.

Thanks for the confirmation, Bob. I just ordered some ammo, making sure I threw-in a few extra tins of 'plus' sizes. In my neck-of-the-woods, the ONLY 22 lead I could find in a 50 mile radius, was budget Daisys. So... I took AGD up on their, "2 free tins when you buy 8" offer.

everything happens for a reason.
You were supposed to have a tack driver. ;D

No argument there. About all I can add... is lesson learned.

Who me? Last time I tried tack driving... my thumbs were bleeding. Seriously tho, what led me to HW besides affordable quality... was their highly praised Rekord trigger.

I have an old 1974 HW50 that is a bit oversize in the breech where you load the pellets. I think on the newer rifles for the most part, pellets will fit pretty well. At least that's been my experience on my R7s, HW30, R9 and HW80. I do tend to shoot the 4.52 sized JSB 8.4 Exacts for the most part though, so that could be why the fit is very good.
Congrats on your purchase. You will soon see first hand how nice the Weihrauch line of rifles can be. ;D

The dealer actually did you a favor by not responding. Now you're going to know first hand why so many people like the Hw95/Beeman R9. Try several pellets until you find the right one. A lot of R9's like Beeman FTS pellets. H&N FTT are the same pellet, but not quite as accurate in my R9's.

Just to add my experience with AOA which was good but their ship within 72 hours......hmmmmmm, not really. They actually try to get to guns/orders in 72 hours from what I have read and observed first hand to chrony; pack; and ship. Now if your okay with that then expect another thing.................call them and expect to stay on the line as much as 18 minutes like me to get a tracking number. They said it would be e-mailed but after 6 days and no e-mail as to shipped; tracking #; etc. I called and they said they were boxing the gun that day. But hey, I was okay with that because I was in no real hurry. They shipped the gun that was packaged with care and did a chrony and sent me some mints!!!!
They give a little more personal touch to the order but are a brick and mortar shop so they are staffed accordingly and get to it as quick as possible.
So keep that in mind! You will like the HW95................any HW should bring a smile to one's face! ;D

There is a reason for you being on hold sometimes. When they talk to you on the phone, they will answer any/all questions you have. They won't rush to get you off the line. They want to make sure you are getting what you want and have all your questions answered. I have bought more than one AG from AOA and all my transactions have been without incident. If you want to get in touch with them, it's best to call as they don't answer emails very promptly

No.
