Thanks to all on my other post of scope or peep on this gun.
I have decided to go scope, and am looking for recomendations for a solid, lighter & compact scope. Initially I thought a Bug Buster in 6X, but seem to come accross mixed reviews on the Leapers.
Open to anything, but solid and dependable are high on the list, second by light and compact.
Thoughts on rings or bases would be appreciated too!
Thanks Guys and have a great day,
Marc

I have a Hawke Sport HD IR 2-7x32 with medium Burris signature rings. Nice and low and the size fits the rifle.

What is your price range? Also, do you want a reticle with multiple aimpoints, or will a duplex work fine?
-
Oh that dang price thing always gets in the way. I'd like to keep the scope under $150 if possible, rings or base good quality.
Not picky on the reticle at all.
I see the Bug Buster comes with rings - any idea if they will fit the HW30S dovetail?

Just put a Hawke 4x32AO with some UTG Med rings....under $100....light weight and great view.

Compact scopes can be tricky to use on the HW30/R7 because they are short and you need to get them far enough back to get into the eye relief range. Nothing wrong with a Leapers compact scope, but you might need to use and offset mount. If the offset does not have a built in scope stop, you would need to purchase one to keep the mount from sliding along the dovetail.
Hawke, Leapers, even Barska, make good quality, value-priced full size scopes. I prefer a one piece mount with a scope stop pin. The first scope I used on my R7 was a Leapers 3-9x32 with UTG Medium 1" rings. I then had Barska 2-7x32 mounted on a Hawke 1 piece medium mount. Now I have a Hawke Panorama and still use the Hawke mount. I liked all three scopes with this gun.

compacts can be a PIB.. The HK3020 is not a compact.......fits just fine........two Med rings and you're done........
originally had one on my 30s...it now resides on my Cometa 400.

+1
Ignore the stock--this is an HW30/R7 with the 2-7x32 Hawke. It fits great and as a bonus it focuses down to 5 yards. I have 3 of them and haven't had any issues.

Thanks Guys! I got a chance to shoot it yesterday, and I have to say this may be my all-time favorite gun! Smooth, accurate, easy shooting.
I'll check out the Hawke scope.
Have a great day - Marc
