Here is a partial scan of a target I was using to zero the gun at 25 yards.........

LOL......how about that unlucky fly!
At the first ever THAGC field target match a couple weeks ago I was shooting the same oring sealed R9, but it was tuned to a bit over 12fpe shooting CPLs at 830fps. It was a real windy day for that match and I was kinda surprised that I hit as many targets as I did (even with unreduced Gamo target KZs). Today I broke down the R9 again and removed a bit of spring spacing to reduce the CPL velocity a bit more to around 820fps (a bit under 12fpe). It was a bit breezy today (5-10mph) and I was a bit surprised that I could hit the paddle of my unreduced Gamo target at 53 yards pretty consistently once I got a handle on the amount of wind drift after nailing the fly at 25 yards! :o
Anywhoo......kinda fun playing with CPLs at 820fps instead of 900ish fps that I've used for years!

Worse than a 65 mph freeway windshield impact ... SMACK !

Congrats.
The fly target was the best shot, that is accuracy.

Thanks for the kind words, however if you look at the other bulls on the target you'll see that the fly was also "unlucky"! ::)

Gee, now it will have to be decided on whether to call you "BugMaster" or "BugTerminator."
Good looking groups.

This past Saturday I shot a hunter class field target match at the DIFTA club and did very well in the wind knocking down 74% of the targets for a ONE point win over my brother who too second place in piston hunter class. I scored a 53/72 and the match high for all classes shot a 56/72 (I think) so I'm pretty pleased with my "break barrel" win. I used the 12fpe setup at the first ever THAGC (Tar Heel Air Gun Club) FT match at Selma, NC in March so I feel that I've improved at the 12fpe level since the DIFTA match was a normal match with a normal variation of killzone sizes from 3/8" to a WHOPPER 3" (I'm guessing) killzone at 50+ yards (I'm guessing). Since the THAGC club is a brand new club with a lot of new shooters, all Gamo targets used for that match were unreduced.
The biggest difference for me was the added difficulty of hitting the long range target killzones with the breeze that kept shifting left and right compared to the 14.5fpe tune I've always used in the past . Also.....at 12fpe the pellet trajectory is a "lot loopier" requireing a bit more precise range "guessitimation" and more precise holdover.
Still......I did VERY well with the close to mid range targets, did LOUSY on the forced offhand lane hitting only one for six shots, and not so good on the forced kneeling lane.....however I did better than the last time kneeling!
Anywhoo.....I like the 12fpe level and I think I'll stick with it for a while!

still that's good shooting! :P

I Detuned a 34 pro and a TX200. I love it, super smooth and accurate. :D
Nice shooting! ;D
