Title: Front sight inserts for QB target rifles ?

I've got a 2078 and am about to order the one with the side lever . These rifles come with one round hole insert and one very wide post insert. I have some very nice European Smallbore target rifles and have on hand at least five different size and style front sight inserts but none fit this front sight. I was able to ream out the front of the tunnel to .687" and install a round lexan Champions choice insert(Anschutz size) but I am a post guy. I play around with other style inserts but unless I am shooting the USBR target I greatly prefer post front sight. I was able to file/hone the post insert it came with down to .075" wide. If I remember right it came about .250" wide and I really don't see the use in a front sight that wide. It would be nice to have options for front sight inserts. Anyone know what size/style works or have a source for replacements for the Industry brand target front sight inserts?

I think the RWS sets will either fit or be darn close....I think I bought a set years ago and used one or two of them in one of my rifles...been so long since I had a chance to shoot them I'll have to check and see if I did...ain't gittin old great...

XS-28 has inserts that might fit, tapered post to a point...

I ordered two and will report back when they come in from Canada.
Thanks Mike, I'll be calling you soon to order another QB, this time a .177 Target model, good .22 pellets have been a little scarce locally lately. Has feedback been good on the sidelever guns ?

the sidelevers have been good, the choked barrels seem to help...

It took three weeks and three days for those inserts to get to Texas from Canada.On Monday 4-22 the seller issued me a refund through paypal as they must have been lost in the mail so naturally they came in yesterday. If you want more options for front sight inserts the Feinwerkbau 16mm/"Old Walther" inserts fit perfect. The China inserts are .626 O.D and these are .624. One tab is a little thinner but that does not affect the orientation. The post are a little shorter so for me anyway they work a little better in that the rear sight dos not have to be set at it's upper limits. Now that you are kind of caught up Mike, I'll do a nice post on my new AR 2078B, WOW what a nice rifle.

Thanks but I found the inserts that fit. The British feller does sell inserts but they are the same as what comes with the rifle.
