I was about to give up after shooting my favorite .22 CP HP's and domes. Those pellet shot 3/4" in my Trail NP and 1/2" and under in my Talon SS at 30 yards. It shot 2"+ at 30 yards in the pumper.I dug out some JSB Exact Jumbo RS's 13.43g. Now with open sights its a 1" gun with 5 or 6 pumps.I guess i cant complain but $9 a tin to $18 a tin will kill me!

I've got a 397 and have a 392 (ordered it with the peep sight) that should be here in a few days. My friend has a 392 and he only pellets it doesn't like are the Daisys. CHP, RWS and even the Gamo domes hit to almost the same point of impact. With the peep sight 392 I can shoot almost as well as with my NP Trail. They 392 and 397 do seem to like heavier pellets though in the eight pump range. Both calibers do seem to be most accurate over all at 5 to 6 pumps though. Of course, if you do have to buy more expensive pellets for the 392 it seems they last much longer since the reload time is slower than a break barrel. Oh, if you haven't tried the Williams/AirVenturi peep sight it's great and well worth the $35. Can't wait for my new 392 to get here! Going to order a peep for my .177 as well.

One of the reasons I got back into pellet guns was the outrageous prices for firearm ammo. Compared to that, the very best pellets are cheaper than dirt so I really do not mind paying for what works best.

Mine likes heavies especially the JSB match diabolo exact jumbo heavy 18.13gr and the 25.4gr monsters. RWS super domes work pretty well too. The Eun Jin 28.4gr are so so accurate but are really fun to shoot, anything hit with one of these stays hit. I would like to try the 32.4gr Eun Jins just to see if there is a big difference.
My Sheridan loves the .20 cal Webley Accupell. I will order these in .22 cal the next chance I get to see if the 392 likes them as well.

Yeah I had a similar situation, it took ten days to get my order in the end. They used the weather in the north east as an excuse but it was coming from Salt Lake city to Texas??? It's too bad that PA doesn't carry the Webley pellet line as I would much rather deal with them. My next order to airgun depot will be big enough that I won't have to do it again for a while.

Me too.I got back into pellet rifle to shoot local pest birds.Just in time to save my supplies.it should be cheaper but at the rate i am shooting its getting expensive.I have been going though over 1000 pellets a week at my back of the shop range and down by the river.

The accupells showed up in the mail today ;D now I have to finish up on the facelift ;D

Wow! Over 1000 shots a week with a 392? That's a lot of pumping, a real good exercise program.

Who puts out a modified or hopped up Benjiman 392? I know Airguns of AZ sells what they call ACP MK II, but I'd like to see what else is available out there. Any help appreciated.

Funny.Mostly with an RWS 45 and Talon .177 Mixed in with A Benji Trail NP .22 for the hikes.
I got in a new package of RWS Super H Points today. They shot well.I again tried the Crosmans and they shot no better than 2.5" at 30 yards while the RWS shot all groups under 1.5" and a couple at an inch.I want to keep the rifle with open sights and not add a peep or scope.I may have my buddy tig up the rear and make the slot narrower. Its much too wide for even half arse precision aiming.

Well after doing the facelift I discovered the front pump lever pivot is worn out after talking with Tim Mac1 it need a new lever you just can't replace the bushing :'(
then the conversation lead to doing a Steroid Tune ;D it will have to wait a little bit for some funding :(

lets look at this in a different light.....
BTW the 392 DOES like the 13.4 grainers from JSB, but Air arms falcons are the same thing.
Those are ok easily to 30 yds, but the real accuracy in my Steroid 392 comes from Barracuda match pellets.
10 pumps dumps all the way, and is not that bad to pump to. The steriod pushes them out at around 18ftlbs in this pump range. If I do my part, the Steriod scoped will hold 1 inch groups at 50 yds with Barracudas.
If you ever order your pellets online, then lets count out the cost of shipping, cause you gotta pay the shipping on cheapies, just like you pay for the top shelf stuff.
Air arms falcons on order from pyramyd....500 for 13.50
buy 3 get the 4th free, 2000 pellets for 40.50....averages out to just a touch over 2cent a shot.
Look at the accuracy difference between the cheapies at 1 cent a shot, versus 2 cent a shot.
Steriod Benji 392 is the only way to go. Save just a little longer, and get it done. The man gives a conditional LIFETIME warranty on the gun....testament to his work, IYAM.
Better scoop one up quick, cause Benjamins are rumored to be discontinued. So your only steriods will soon be used guns that are sent in.
Some things you can do to help your Benji accuracy:
Check for paint overspray at the end of the bbl.....this robs your accuracy. Get rid of it with a careful recrown.
they are very basic guns, open the gun up and POLISH every trigger contact point that you can. You will still have the long trigger pull, but it will at least be smoothe.
Check for any roughness in the lead, or around the barrel side of the TP.
Make sure the seal around the bolt is good. Check with powder for leaks.
Add a scope, and you will realize true accuracy. I really like Greg Lundy's integramount base to mount scopes to these models.
The steriod I have is easily as accurate as the tuned HW95 I had. But blew the the springer away with power.
they are short, light, and easy to rebuild.
Anyway, 2 cent per shot is DOUBLE the price of 1 cent per shot....... but for the accuracy, speed and power, hard to beat it at that price point :)
Gods blessings for you this Easter,
Farmer

was cleaning and lubing my order of accupells today. while taking the the tin out of the packaging I noticed the address of Webley and Scott is in Reno. so I had to laugh at the route the pellets took to get to me. so if the pellets came from Reno they went to Salt Lake then back through Reno past Auburn to Sacramento to the US Post then back to Auburn. ??? ::) :P Reno is about 2hr. drive from my house ;) so if I could have picked up the pellets in Reno I would of been back home in 4hrs. and I could of made a side trip to Cabela's and Scheels ;D just things that make go Hmmm :o

VAFarmer-Good points.
I have many scoped and target sighted guns and i want this to be a simple grab and go.I dont need more power as have others that can do that.I wish i kept the 5mm Sheridan i sold here recently for a family member. It shot 3/4" and under at 30 yards with Benjamin pellets .I may eventually buy another older Sheridan .20.

My 392 loves the heavy eunjins, both the pointed and the domes. I don't shoot anything but the heavy Eunjin pointed pellets through it now, and I shoot the lighter domes in my Daisy 822. If I were to post the velocities and energy figures I get with pointed Eunjins in my 392 on ten pumps I'd blprobably get flamed and called a liar. They are that awesome. My gun also seems to have a larger than average bore though, and most pellets are barely gripped in the rifling. I'm cool with that though, because the Eunjins are giving me such great results and they are my favorite pellets for the punch they pack and the excellent ballistic coefficient. Worth a try.

he mac tunes are awesome tim isnt getting any younger i haighly suggest it as i dont know if he is breaking n anyone to do them when he retires my sheridan shoots about a half inch at 35 i have 2 froo the 50s they sure did good rifling then how did everyone like the 22 cal webleys?
