Title: Aperture sight on HW30S - question
Post by: Untrusted55 on March 20, 2013, 10:43:10 PM
Hi there - I have an HW30S and a Crosman aperture sight which came from a Challenger (it's the $$$ sight, made in Spain, not Chinese). My question is that if I put the sight on my HW30S will I need to use a stop pin? It currently does not have a stop pin, but I could easily modify it to have one by drilling and tapping in a hole and inserting a thick bolt as a pin. I am looking for folks who have used peeps on this gun or an R7 and did you end up having to use a pin or not.

Thanks folks

Timely Question.. I was considering a peep set up for my 30s.
It would appear no stop pin is needed......try it without...if you find you need one add it . Nothing to lose.

I retrofitted mine with a UTG mount as it would not grip the dovetail.  This is the current $49 air venturi bent sheet metal version not the Gamo made Crosman.

Hmm that's an interesting solution. Seems like it would work well.
