Oakey, I still say it could be a tuned .25 MROD with a great scope. Mike

Really thinking on your question.
1. Back yard friendly? Yep, got several choices, that’s an easier one to cure (depending on #3…’mo power = ‘mo noise).
2. 100Yard accurate? NO ONE can promise you that. Don’t take offence, but we on’t know if you are 100 yard accurate…can always get a “twitchy” barrel…and the wind might be blowing.
3. Knock-Down energy at 100 yards? What you want….if it’s got 12 foot pounds left at 100, would be like putting a Benjamin MSP in it’s ear….if you are thinking of comparison to a .22LR, then it’s going to be hard to come up with a quiet (see #1 above) airgun that still has 90 foot pounds at 100 yards. Things like that do exist, but they shoot cast bullets and certainly are not quiet.
So I have counter-questions:
1. How quiet is “back yard friendly”? Considering you’re thinking of 100 yar shots, then I suspect you either don’t have close neighbors OR you are thinking of backyard use and 100 yard use in two different locations. That kind of leads me to a gun with easily adjusted power, so you could dial it down for back yard use and dial it up (and sight in again) for 100 yard use.
2. Even a well practiced PB shooter takes awhile to get good with airguns. Some of it is the long “lock time” (in this case, even with PCP’s, there is a whole lot happening between trigger pull and pellet exit), some of it is how cussedly picky airguns seem to be about shooting well, some of it is that some pellets just “go stupid” past a certain range, and a lot of it is that the BC of even the best pellets is about5 1/5th that of a .22LR so the wind plays with the pellet a whole lot more on the way to the target.
3. Knock down power really depends on what you are shooting…and there is no real “knock down” power with airguns. For traditional airgun type game (rabbits, squirrels, pest birds, rats, etc) don’t need a whole lot of energy at impact (lests just say 10 foot pounds, although many can argue for less). Use the ballistic charts to work backwards, finding what you gotta start with in order to have what you want at 100 yards.

I think a tuned .25 Mrod would do but it will need a shroud extension and maybe more in tbe way of tuning than just that. Expect to need a good tune. Maybe FX makes something in .25 that will work but even then you still have to worry about quiet.

What is back yard friendly, just quiet or safe to use in a populated area. A 100yd shooter would be too powerful to be safe in my yard.

If it's got 100 yard accuracy, as long as noise isn't an issue and your backstop is up to the task, I think you're fine with it in the backyard. It boils down to the noise, and the neighbors. I have to agree that knockdown power is relative, though. 10-12 fpe at 100 yards sounds pretty good to me, it's possibke with less than 50 FPE and easier to quiet down. The backstop is the big variable here, to include the noise pellets are making on impact! Lots of ductseal!

Define serious knock down power... and back yard friendly... It sounds like you are in need of more than one gun for different applications. Or a .22LR...

How about a Evanix Windy City II ?
;)

Yes how about that? MROD my next acquisition or trade for great springers.

My .22 Marauder puts 17.1 fpe on target @ 100yards with 21.30 baracudas very accurately,..Longest confirmed kill is 131yards with 18.1 JSB on a crow!

The 25 MROD is a great long range gun and very affordable. They are no louder than your springers and maybe even quieter then a couple. Plenty of power for crows, squirrels, possum, coons, etc.
Mine will hold 1 moa out to 70 yards pretty easily. 100 yard groups are around 1.5 - 2 inches. 40 fpe and 24+ good shots per fill on the factory settings.
