OK, who knows what is needed to do a shoot?
I've got a great locale, a really great guy who wants to cater to airgunners if we'll buy some nosh, maybe some air and/or CO2. That works for me. I think he'd like to make it a regular deal and he's totally interested in the sport.
But I have no idea what is needed and I'm really hoping there's somebody who'd like to partner up with me and help set up a shoot here. Locale is a couple miles away from NKyU.
So anybody have guidance?
Anybody near Cincinnati have interest in helping?

I do not have any knowledge of setting up a shoot, but I would be interested in helping out though.

Great Dave. As soon as I get a bit more, we'll try to firm it up. I just noted my "host" with some ideas and he had a great one, himself.
I'm *THINKING* (from my place of relative ignorance), that a "modified" Hunters Field Target fun shoot would be the way to go. I am, however, open to other inputs.

Is this the place decided on from the Indiana Shoot Posts earlier? Or another Shoot you're setting up?

Same place. I'm thinking a Tri-state shoot. One experiment at a time! :)

I'm guessing first step is locking down date (avoid other holidays), location and ground rules (field target? other match formats?) for folks to coalesce on ~2 months in advance, then communicate away. Everyone loves to shoot and shoot the breeze. Next step is beg for the volunteers to help you set up early! It's kind of a &^^& shoot, but I don't think you can try to plan around individual schedules. Lock it down and see what happens.
There are state specific GTA gates - maybe post in all those bordering Cinci with a date set 2 or 3 months hence and your contact information to get the location? Parallel posts on other forums too might be a good idea. Takes a wide net to get the word out on a specialized activity in a specialized hobby.

I found this site about making your own field targets, I'll make one or two to try out. If they work out OK, they should be fairly cheap to produce. I have a little bit of wood laying around. I also found a couple youtube videos for making paper target holders out of PVC pipe and wire.

Very cool.
I found this one, which is probably a bit ambitious.

I do have a couple wire sign frames that I found in the basement yesterday, and those are a very logical target holder in a pinch.
