Well the wife has really been enjoying her new 2240. When she hits the spinners at 24 yds she looks over her shoulder at me and says, "that's pretty good, huh". Anyway, we were walking through wallyworld the other day and she sees the Crosman 357 hanging on the wall. She stops, points to the gun and asks me if that shoots pellets. I tell her yes, that's a pellet gun and she says, "I want it". I don't buy anything without researching it to death, so I thought I'd start by asking here. So who has one of these? Are they worth the Money? Do they shoot worth a darn? She would just use it for target practice so it need not have the power to kill anything but the ability to group at 10 yds is a must. Thanks

They're GREAT fun! Need lots of extra clips tho. She'll plow thru the ammo. On a 12g in 70-80F I get appx 70 shots. Haven't tried using it on any of my spinners yet, so not sure if it's strong enough.
I never actually tried to shoot groups with it. I was able to cut a hanging can in half with it at about 10yrds w/ a CHEAP red-dot, and used to have fun cut'n down the overgrown weeds behind our lot. (I was using crosman wadcutters, manual recommends a flat of slightly rounded pellet, nothing pointed. Never tested that theory)
It can be shot single, or double-action. One's certainly more fun, but the other's 100% more accurate. Trigger is heavy for double, but nice and crisp for single.
Not sure WM's price, but AGD has a nice combo pack that includes spare magazines. (also sells them buy the 3 pack alone)

Father-in-law has one, fun to shoot and pretty accurate to boot.

I just picked one up for a trade of my 1377. I've never had more fun with an airgun. Buy a bunch of CO2 and a bunch of pellets, and a bunch of clips, and you'll shoot until you can't pull the trigger any more. Mine is not very accurate at all, but I have some slop in my closing mechanism that I need to rememdy. It's a great plinker, but I don't think mine will do 1" at 10 yds.

Well my wife surprised me tonight. She reminded me that she had an unused walmart gift card and said that she wanted to use it on a new pellet pistol. OK? So we got in the car, drove to wally world and she grabbed the last 357 they had. It was dark by time we got home so shooting it will have to wait until tomorrow. I am a little concerned by the size of the gun though, the trigger reach is a little long for me so I know it will be a bit long for her. Also the barrel latch button is almost too stiff for me to operate, she probably won't be able to do it herself. I hope it's not too much for her, she is really starting to get into the whole airgun thing and I don't want her to become discouraged.

Funny you mention that, I never realized how much of a reach it actually is! :o It was my first pistol so I guess I just got used to it, not knowing any better. Still works for me (piano fingers) My latch isn't tooo stiff, but it does have some umph to it. I find that if I hold my index finger just in front of the trigger guard under the hinge it gives some extra leverage to push down on the button w/ my thumb.
Good part tho, it's Wally World. They'll take just about anything back. Hope it works out and ya'll have as much fun with it as me and my wife have!

Bought mine last year on a lark and have been having a blast ever since. It will do quarter sized groups at 15 yards from a rest and 3" groups off hand so I'm happy. ;D ;D ;D

I thought that I would update on my wifes crosman 357. She and I have been having a ton of fun with this gun. It doesn't have a lot of umph behind it but what it lacks in power it makes up for in short range accuracy. I've found that it groups pretty decent at 10 yards which helps to keep things interesting. At 10 to 20 yards it's a beer cans worst enemy. I just toss a can to a random spot in the yard and she makes it dance. The stiff latch has loosened up some, so now even she is able to open it up. The last time I used the gun I got over 80 shots out of the co2 cart which made me very happy.
I think the gun is worth what she paid for it. We've already had several hours of shooting fun with it. I wouldn't use it for pesting but I will use it all day long for killing pesky beer cans. One of the things I really love about this gun is watching Kim hold it. Seeing her hold that big frame revolver just makes me smile.
So far so good... The pistol is easy to use, pretty accurate, economical and FUN. It's really great to hear my wife say, "I'm going out back to shoot". I of course jump up and am right behind her.

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you say about the Crosman 357. I've had mine for a year or so and it is great fun and I find it to be pretty accurate. I can't think of a better gun for revolver practice, particularly if your wife hasn't been a shooter in the past. Sounds as if she is getting really interested and that's great!
