Title: made a lighter sear spring for disco trigger
Post by: hpmr2400 on March 03, 2013, 08:19:18 PM
figured i would share this, may have been done before, but i dont know. i had a light wire pen spring and pulled it as straight as it would go and and just kept bending until i thought it was straight enough, next i took pliers and bent the wire around the shaft of a screwdriver till i was the shape of original sear spring.next you cut it to about same size as original sear spring length, then make a little bend in top to hold the sear. doing this really lowered the trigger weight and combined with three screw mod,it s actually a great trigger now. i know it would of been easier to follow with pics, but all you have to do is copy the shape of original spring.

If you're talking about the hairpin spring that hooks over the sear.... all you need to do is rebend it very slightly to reduce the included angle by about 5 degrees.... If you go 10 degrees, the trigger will be too light and may not latch reliably.... It goes without saying that replacing the coil spring behind the trigger blade with a lighter one comes first, as lightening that one give you a nice two-stage feel to the trigger.... Do that first, and then if want the second stage lighter, just tweak the angle of the sear spring about 5* or so....
