Gents, I finally had time to strip down my QB 78 stock and get her all ready for a not so normal new finish. For this look I used minwax pre-stain sealer and treatment, then allowed it to dry until barely wet to the touch, I then took a very light coat of Minwax natural #209 finish. Once dried I looked her over and found her to be just what I wanted, no satin, no gloss, just a dull, weather friendly finish.

Looks perfect, and I bet it just gets better with some miles on it.

Nicely done

Nice natural wood look. My QB 79 will get a refinish when warmer temp. get warm again.

I hear that, cold is not fun when dealing with wood and finish!

I think if someone put together an "All-time best Airguns" list, the QB guns would have to be close to the top. I'm looking for some warmer weather to just pull mine out and do some fun shooting.
Great looking gun, Matt.

You can get a special "sponge" that when dragged through the stain creates nice wood grain finish
