Title: Mrod trigger to Disco
Post by: Dave1899 on February 28, 2013, 01:23:13 AM
I have an Mrod Trigger assembly I want to install in my Disco.  I know I need a spacer but I can't find a Trigger Guard.  Where can I find a trigger guard and is there any mods I need to do to the trigger assembly or stock to do the installation?

You can use the guard from a Challenger, it mounts on the MRod trigger with a single screw at the front.... it has an open back.... I tapped the appropriate hole in the MRod trigger to bolt on the Challenger guard.... You need to do a bit of Dremel work on the stock to clear the trigger and the screws on the inside....

Tha Challenger looks a bit odd to me with the open back for the Mrod.  I'd like a more traditional trigger guard.  thanks for the suggestion.

Check with Norm listed in my sig and see if he has a guard. He can inlet the stock and install the guard. You will need a prod hammer with the groove cut in the top to avoid contacting the breech screw, and the spacer shim from Lloyd in my sig. He could cut the groove into it and may possibly have the hammer too.

I don't think you don't need to change the hammer in a Disco with an MRod trigger, providing you have the spacer in place under the trigger.... I believe that the early reports of MRod trigger sears breaking when used with a stock Disco hammer were because the sear was sticking up too high in the tube, which is cured by using the 1/32" spacer from AGL.... You do need to fill the waist in the hammer (or use one from a Challenger) if you use the PRod trigger....
