Hi everyone. About a month ago I bought a new x50 that was on sale at my local range for $199.00 with the scope. I had been wanting to get a high powered pellet gun for a while, but other than that I really didn't know anything about them. I went home, did a search on this gun, saw some good reviews, and saw that it was a good price. So I bought it. I have been shooting all my life, but quickly discovered there is a learning curve when it comes to air rifles. The first one was, this isn't my Silver Streak I had as a kid. I thought that thing was powerful. Next was finding a pellet this thing likes. I've only tried four different types, but so far I've discovered it likes the heavier.177 10.5g Premier Ultra Mags the best. I get really consistent nickel sized groupings at 25 yards with this pellet. The biggest learning curve however was the scope. Or should I say, scope mounts. I made the mistake of not making sure the scope mount was really secure before I started shooting it, and ended up breaking off the scope stop pin and shaving off some of the mounts foot as it walked back on the the gun. So, one new mount, WELL secured.
Well now I have about 500 rounds down range and this gun just keeps getting better and better. After about 300 rounds the accuracy really improved. It started out grouping about the size of a half dollar with the 10.5's, and is down to about a nickel now at 25 yards. It also seems to have become more powerful as the penetration has increased into this one 2x9 I shoot at sometimes. And it has gotten quite a bit quieter also. I wanted to take it out to the range today to do some 50 and 100 yard shooting, but it was so windy it just would have been a frustrating worthless venture.
I still don't know much about air guns, but I'm getting to know this one quite well. And I must say, I'm liking what I see. I wasn't to crazy about it being made in China when I first got it, but it's proving to be a very well made high quality gun. I'm happy.

Congrats on the x50.
them magnums can be quite a handful, as it and you break in more, it will become more accurate.
Also welcome to the GTA

Sounds great. I've been upset about missing one of those on CL a while back. I did just get a Walther Falcon Hunter and have dubbed it zombiekiller. It likes RWS Magnums.
