Title: My AWESOME Disco string - Thanks guys!
Post by: PackingHeat on February 20, 2013, 02:50:05 PM
Here is my exciting Disco shot string that I obtained with minimal effort and no wasted time thanks to this forum and the great members here. I did the 3 screw mod, added a heavy hammer spring from Rsterne (thanks for the advice!), and a HVA screwed in 3 turns. Starting pressure was 2400 psi. My goal is an accurate hunting tune with increased FPE. Here is what I just achieved with the JSB 15.9 gr. Jumbo Exact. This tune put 10 pellets in a dime size group at 25 yards and would be 1/2 dime size if the 2 flyers were eliminated.

This is an incredibly flat string for the first 15 shots which is more than acceptable. It's down right exciting! The dark side has a Stranglehold on me now. (insert uncle Ted guitar riff HERE) I can't wait to see what I can get out of the JSB 18.1 gr. Jumbo Exact Heavy and some more turns on the velocity adjuster. Thank you all. Too bad I can't shoot any of the nutters running around out back. All I can hope for is a red squirrel or some feathered critters. I now can't wait to get my hands on the new Airforce Condor SS in .25 cal. for a larger game gun.

What was your ending psi? Try shooting down to near 1,000psi if you haven't yet and see what the #'s will be for you.

Congrats. Keep testing with other pellets if possible. Maybe you'll find some that shoot no fliers at all.

Nice work there. Once it gets a wee bit warmer, you have got to make the trip down to AnnArbor on the weekends for some shooting. Got a fine gang of GTA-ers working out in my back yard.
cheers,
Douglas

That sounds great. I'm only 1 hour away. Let me know when you get started back up. I'll bring some venison Bratwurst and horseradish mustard.
