Title: Can the Anti-recoil be taken away in the Hatsan Pistol ?
Post by: Nomadic Pirate on February 17, 2013, 04:14:11 PM
Absolutely love my Hatsan pistol, but I would prefer the recoil to be full on, so I was wandering if something can be done to take the sliding away,.......maybe epoxy the 2 parts together ? ...as well I would like to take the safety away, can that be done ?

thanks in advance for any tips/suggestions/info

what you should do is temporarily disable the the recoil to see how you like it.  i thought i might prefer the gun without the anti-recoil but I found it was just too harsh and unpleasant to shoot.  take the three screws out to separate the gun from the handle.  you'll then see the spring that makes the sliding halves work, take that out and reassemble.  Wrap some tape around the handle area to prevent it from sliding, you should now be able to see what it's like with full recoil.  If you still want to make it permanent I'm not sure glue will last long due to immense force and vibration cocking and shooting create, maybe a good plastic glue would work or perhaps putting in screws to keep the halves together  When you have the gun apart you'll see the safety latch and how it prevents the trigger from firing.  You could probably take out the two pins to remove the slide and reinstall the pins if you don't want the safety.  I actually made my slide lighter by replacing the little spring that presses the little ball bearing against it with a small piece of a flint spring from a cigarette lighter.

I didn't like how loose the recoil system was so I took up some slack with tape which you can read about here.
