Decided at this time did not need another PCP with my focus on doing some Field Target events.
Walnuts nice, but Beech won over for a field target thrasher rifle while saving $80 too ( I know tight azz )
So a TX200 Mk-III in beech is headed this way ;D
Topping it with this Hawke : https://www.pyramydair.com/product/hawke-optics-2-5-10x44-ao-varmint-rifle-scope-1-2-mil-dot-reticle-1-4?a=4430 (https://www.pyramydair.com/product/hawke-optics-2-5-10x44-ao-varmint-rifle-scope-1-2-mil-dot-reticle-1-4?a=4430)
Like the idea of 10X max so you can just crank it up and be ranging Mil-dot at 100%
10 to 12X is in field use so close figured it the more practical also having a better field of view at 2.5x .... and it was fairly light weight too ;)
Hope my decision pans out ? .... Now the wait :'( :'( :'(
Scott
-
Congrats on the new shooter. Post some pics when you get it
-
Scott you are going to love it!!! The wait is rough!!!
Here's a little tease.......sorry, couldn't resist!!!
Pics when she arrives!!!
Joe
-
Your in for a treat Congrats.
Nothing wrong with a little teasing ;D
-
Sweet Dustin!!!
Drooling yet Scott??? We're not making the wait any easier are we????
-
In the Infamous words of Joe Piscopo in Johnny Dangerously ...... You Farrging Bastages !!!
Nice and still have to wait however :P
-
LMBO! ;D
Here's a couple pic's of when she had a 4-16x50 SF Hawke. May be a little closer to what yours will look like.
-
Scott, I KNEW you were going to spoil yourself with a TX200 of your own. ;D. I even told nikoman that in a pm a few days ago you'd want one after seeing his crazy 55 yard group. That TX200 will come in handy in a springer showdown vs your son's hw97 and for some serious piston class bench rest competition in Ione. Nice choice of scope. It should compliment the tx well.
-
That will be a sweet rig Scott!
And look at that 4 hours have already passed ;D ;D ;D ;D

Congrats and get ready to be impressed.
-
Congrats!
Everything about the them is top notch. I find myself picking up the TX every time I walk by the rifle rack. Even if it's just to look at it. ;D
Money well spent.

Shipped Today ... Fed-x says FRIDAY delivery ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

A few years ago I was looking for an exotic air rifle, just going through my options and someone I knew offered me a TX200 at a reasonable price too, but why I didn't take it escapes me at the moment. Possibly a mistake at the time, I'll never know. I wound up buying an English Webley Patriot .25 shortly after,, a mistake - NO, never. This was the exotic cannon I was always after, even if I didn't know it at the time. I have often thought about buying a TX200 since but have never even set eyes upon one in the flesh.
I have however, set eyes on a Diana 470 TH and have felt the need to own one ever since. I pick mine up tomorrow after debating over it for the past week or so. I hope you enjoy your new TX200 like I know I'm going to enjoy my new toy...
Congrats...
-
Scott you won't be sorry. I love my German guns, but the TX is a big step up.
Tom
-
If you are planning on shooting FT your best bet with a 10x scope is to shoot hunter class. The TX shoots well off of a bipod if you have a soft cushioned head. Good luck. It will improve your PCP shooting because it will not tolerate poor trigger work (not that yours is poor) and requires perfect execution for every shot.
I am waiting for my first PCP, a TM 1000 but still plan on the bulk of my practice using my TX and PS because they reinforce good shooting habits.
By the way, these guns are capable of amazing accuracy.
-
Scott you won't be sorry. I love my German guns, but the TX is a big step up.
Tom
I CONCUR.
-
Scott, isn't it terrible to have to wait? Almost as bad as in the Waiting Area of the Delivery Room, when you didn't want to know beforehand!
Oh my, will it be pretty? Maybe all wrinkled up and oily? Do I have to put out a round after Church? Shoot, the guys at the corner Bar will get one for sure.
Do you have pink walls in your gun cabinet, or baby blue walls?
Upps, he probably has baby blue balls, errr walls by now!
Be careful though, that Miss Diana 75 and Escorts don't get forgotten.
;D
-
Robert, I made the mistake of painting the walls blue in the gun safe and the rifle ended up being a girl! ;D ;D

I CONCUR.

Hahahahha... I wonder why...
Of course, I haven't owned both of them "yet" which means I haven't had the chance to compare the two side-by-side so I can't give an opinion - "yet"... I just noticed though that the TX200 is also selling at the same place I'm going to pick the 470TH up from, and it's much cheaper. NO, I am not going change my mind, but, the TX may well be the next on the list. Maybe in a few months or so...
This place is contagious..!!
-
I too hope to put my mitts on a TX as well! Just got a gun or two ahead of it! Congrats!

Motorhead,,
Today while picking up the Diana 470 TH, I saw (at least I'm sure I saw) a TX200 MKIII for the first time. Very fine looking piece of equipment man, very nice. It was on the rack behind the counter and I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't have time to handle it or get a closeup on it. They look like they mean the business...
Like I said a bit further back up the thread - who knows, maybe I might get tempted some time in the foreseeable future... I can't wait for you to get your new rifle. I'm sure this thread will be dribbling with slobber when you do,, hahahaha,, and I don't blame you if it does...

Maybe this will help. ;D

That stinks. Sometimes, the drivers will make up time on Saturdays when they have weather-related delays, even if you didn't request Saturday delivery. It's happened to me a couple of times, but only with Fedex, never UPS. One can hope, right??

Hope????? I'd be praying!!!! Lol

I counted 13 on the "TX fever" thread alone. I'm sure there is more.
Soon to be 14 pending Motorhead of course. :P
-
Well I don't know how many but I can proudly say I have been a member for 2 1/2 years. ;D
-
Looks like Dustin may have been first. Blame it on him.
Tom
-
Here is one more.
Enjoy
-
I can pretty much blame Petey.
He's the scoundrel personally responsible for my purchase. I had to give up a nice rifle and some other sundries to acquire my TX. I've always like Air Arms rifles but when I spoke to Pete on the phone a few months back he mentioned buying one and then everything went blank after that, he might as well been have been speaking in tongues because everything was just another language coming out. My selective hearing just heard the word "TX200" and the rest was blah, blah, blah. I don't remember the conversation after that, sorry Petey. ;D ;D ;D
Mr. Petey is good scapegoat so I say we blame him for getting it started. ;)
I'm not sure how many members strong we are but the club is going to get bigger.
-
Here is one more.
Enjoy
You need to change your avatar, use that image ;)
BTW, if you guys want some blingy TX avatars I can probably do some up if you want. But only for guys in the TX200 brotherhood ;D and of cours it would be with your personal rifle images. We're talking gif animations here ;)
I'm still using my Thoeben one but I might switch over to a TX version one of these days.
-
Stop ... stop it already !!
You guys are making me Go CRAZY.
Looking like Tuesday at the earliest being residential deliveries are Tue - Sat :'(
-
can't you pick it up from the distribution center in Sac?
-
I think Scott needs a drink.......or 12!!!!
Shot a couple of pretty good groups from 50 yards today and I thought you guys might like checking the best one out.......especially our TXless friend Scott!!!
Was trying to obliterate the middle club. Almost got the whole thing with 15 shots.
-
can't you pick it up from the distribution center in Sac?
Considering Trucks still not even shown up and there not open for Public Will Call services until Monday, really no point in it being its being delivered to my shop in sac where I work Tue - Sat having Sun & Mon as days off. Home to Fed-x terminal in West Sac a 100 mile round trip :P
Nope ... gets here when it does sadly ....
-
That really not worthy, Scott >:(
I'm perturbed off for you.
Joe, that's some pretty mean shooting there, bud.
Get an ace of spades and obliterate that thing for me, please ;)

Good show old chap, glad to hear and see. Well at least you have managed to fire yours. My 470TH is ready to shoot but I am going to get some Crosman Premiers asap and yesterday I got a nail through my fingernail,, and it's my trigger finger too. I mean, how bad does bad luck get for some of us..?? It's a lot better today, thank heavens, as it throbbed lastnight, but I doubt if I will be pulling anything in the next few days. Jeez I'd better whatch what I say. It wasn't meant to sound like that... You know what I mean, don't you..??
Anyway, I'm happy for you. Nice shooter man, nice...
-
Congratulations Scott!

Very Nice! Congrats! ;D

Got her outside into the daylight ... so another picture ;)
* Few quick shots over the Chronograph gave these early "Pre-Broken in" numbers ...
RWS 7 gr hobby = 954 fps
JSB 8.4 gr exacts = 831fps
JSB 10.3 gr exacts = 762 fps
so far looks healthy enough ;)
-
Got her outside into the daylight ... so another picture ;)
I know this might be considered a sacrilege, but looking at this photo, I actually prefer the color and finish of the beech, over walnut... that's just me, though.
-
Drew,
That is sacrilege! ;D
But it's OK, I forgive you since that's the hunter in you speaking. ;D
-
Nice pose!!!!!
Mine loves the JSBs you're shooting, and FTTs. She shoots the heavies very well, but I heard a different sound when shooting them. I stick with the mid weights.

Mid weight being the 8.4's ???
-
Yup. 8.4 and 8.64. JSB and FTT give me the best results.
