Ok well since the thread got lost lets start it again!!!!
so far we have two possible locations either
Middletowns sportsman club
or
Twin Valley shooting range
spring valley costs 5 bucks to shoot at you have to buy a day permit sold anywhere hunting licsence are sold.... Middletown tentivaly is saying we can use the camping area to set up a range! we need to get my poppa(Morgan/Jay) to iron out the details for that(would be nice to donate a couple bucks per shooter to the club anyways for letting us use the land.... so I would say 5 bucks either place LOL)
Ok so who all is wanting to shoot?!?!?!?!?! lets get a list going and figure out a date!!!!!

Of course I'm still in.The Middletown Sportsman's would just to me seem better(private)an a semi more central area,but I'd go to both for a shoot an get together.OH an while donation's would most likely be accepted I'm sure it's not needed.An still bring a shotgun along if you want to try skeet or trap?SHOOT an some folding table's for a shooting line?

I got my shooting table built last night.... can sit 2 maybe 3 people at one on it and seems to be sturdy enough LOL
as far as middletown being better I would have to agree if they are game it WOULD be the nicest place to set something up... I was just figureing the donation would be nice and help make sure the club invites us back :)

I think I can be there as long as its not Aug.7. Grandson coming home from afgan deployment and I better make that. Also might bring a buddy of mine. I also have a shooting bench that will make the trip. Either place is ok,but Middletown would better.

Gary we will make it Any time we can to suit every one. I'd say we will have it in midd. for sure. An it DEFF. won't be on the 7th(tell your grand-boy I am proud of his service to us)!!! It's still open, but I was thinking maybe the 31st of this month if everyone want's? Comment's needed.

Seems to me when this was posted on the old GTA forum at least five or six responded they were interested in a gettogether. I wonder if they have found this place in the new forun. Maybe Gene wouldn't mind if it was posted on the main. Not that three would be bad,but more would be better.

Hey Guys
Was trying to figure out how far of a drive it would be for me from Barboursville WV .There sems to be 3 Middletowns in Ohio if you dont shoot Hillbilly,s on sight would appreciate some help here .

The season on hillbillys is closed or maybe they are a protected,anyway the Middletown refered to is about 20 miles north or Cincy. I don't know the exact address of the club Jay spoke of but that is the general area.Come on up I promise not to shoot at you. Can't say that for the rest but I think you wil be safe.

sorry for the lack of response but I had a hard time finding where this was posted. Anyway, I'm still in depending on the date chosen. I know I can't do the last week of July or the last week of August. It doesn't matter which location to me but the idea of doing some trap shooting afterwards sounds appealing.

O.K. Guy's let's see how this fly's, How about the 14th of August(sat) for the date,starting time 10am(when club open's)till we either get tired or the sun set's on us!?! We will work out lunch an all next if this date is good for everyone? The address for the club is 6943 Michael RD Middletown Ohio,45042. You can map search it or I will post direction's later. An YES bring a shotgun if you want we CAN shoot Skeet,Trap or even sporting clay's also(I'm not much at trap I kinda play skeet an clay's more,but I will pull the trigger on anything with ya!! I Have extra gun's if needed?) Please feel free too bring ANY friend's you can or anyone you can drag along(I think I will put a flyer or two up at the club when we settle on date).P.S I might be able too get a 8 or 9 am time start if anyone want's it so let me know?P.S.S. Man,this thing is coming together fast! I'm not sure I can make it, but I really don't know yet. No harm if I just show up unaccounted for? It will be great to meet you guys, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can make it up. It's not too far from Cinti, and the Thunderbolt_Grease-Slapper is running well enough. Maybe the wife can spare me for a few hours.

I too look forward ta meeting everyone.Stay in touch an buy the lady some flower's to bribe her some. I'm lucky mine is happy just to get rid of me for a day(she would say a week is better).

Ya gotta know that among other things I am a lowly love-slave. I'm not even good for thinking! Just hard labor, and hard lovin!! :D But she may let me come...err attend the event, that is.
Well, now that I have that out of my system, I've marked the date. The place shouldn't be too hard to find if I use Mapquest. I still can't solidly commit to attending, but it is my intent to be there. Wasn't there some mention of a fee of some sort? What about eats, and drinks? Some place near by like McDonalds or something? Shade! Where's the shade?! :D
Man, I guess I'll be asked to demonstrate the dual-barrel concept with this Chinese model 1073/fake-Beeman RS2 ( I wonder why is costs $179.00 At PA, but was on $60.00 at Wally's? Must be an expensive case.)

Great everyone!!! I'm looking forward too this.I have the address up for you all,If anyone has any trouble let me know, an anyone is more than WECOME to come to my house(easy to get to off 75)an we can car pool or follow me there. My # is with the address to if anything needed? Next ? is what does everyone want to do for food an drink's(I will check to see if the small food place is open in club house that day)but if not Cook out or order or a bar/food place is about 3 mile's away WHAT DO ALL WANT? Oh also bring any target stand's or steel you can....P.S. Darryl there are no fee's. My club said come on out!!! Well really they said your not shooting .50 cal's again are you Jay an laughed when I stated no just really big AG's an a get together...Like all true gun people they are really the best.

Yes bring whatever targets you all can and some benches for shooting would be nice too LOL so whatever fold out tables or such people can bring the better!!

ytea grills and hotdogs/.hamburgers/whatever or we going to take a midday break and go somewhere???
I am leaning more toward a grill and hotdogs kinda idea.... everyone bring some soda and such or whatever

Anyone have any idea of any local eats? We could break for lunch, head out, then come back to belch and fart to our hearts' content out in the wide open spaces. Or we could order delivery. As for grilling on the spot, the range has grills? Or will someone bring a grill? I have special dietary needs. I can't eat live food, except for vegies. :D

I was thinking that if we decided to grill I could bring my grill and I know pops has a charcoal grill we could bring too.... there are some local things like an A&W rootbeer stand not to far from there other then that we would be kinda limited lol

I think it is mighty gracious of you both to consider taking on bringing grills. Having said that, grilling takes away from shooting (not really a bad thing). So perhaps A&W is a viable option, or at least we could take turns pulling grill duty so no one loses out on enjoying the range? Also, it depends on the attendance numbers, imo. If only a few attend, then I'd recommend a run to A&W to save you guys from a lot of work hauling and setting up the grills.
Somebody bring a TF-89. :D

lol both grills would be charcoal so setup and such is really next to nothing... but I dont really care what we do LOL

I will start off by saying either way is fine but, seems that a grill setup could be a hassel since we don't know for sure how many will show. I have only seen about 6 "I plan to be there " posts and we all know that could change.

Just a reminder...
We WILL need tables and chairs and targets :) I believe the cub is more or less just letting us use an empty field to shoot in so whatever you all can bring to make it fun the better it will be :)
I plan on bringing alot of paintballs to shoot at so if anyone has a bunch of old golf tee's or something we can set them on that would be great!!!!
Also friends are welcome!! lol bring all your well behaved AG shooting friends LOL

O.K. GUY'S LISTEN UP!!!!!Our plan's have not changed ANY at all. But I just came from my club an was double checking everything for us an was informed that the Gun's of August Big Iron International CowBoy shoot will be going on at the same time(it was set back a week, I didn't know?) I still have it all under control for us just don't be freaked out by the HUNDERED's of guy's an gal's dressed in cowboy garb an carrying ALOT of old style weapon's an I mean the place will be packed with them. It is an international size shoot O.K.,But it work's out really in our favor!!! We now have a TON of food an entertainment to take a break an go look at!?! An I mean from leather good's to beautiful gun's of all sort's(all for sell)an even mounted horse back shooting to gawk at!!! Do still bring a shotgun if you want. They are NOT sure if that part of the club will be open or not but we can cross our finger's on that part??? What we are going to do is set up on the sporting clay's course at station#2 in the wood's,I got permission for us to be able to drive our car's to it an unload what we need an park behind the BoyScout's meeting house in the field(trust me without it we would of had to walk hundered's of yard's to get there).So here is how to get there,as you come down the lane you will see the camp ground on your right pull in at the second drive(at the scout's place) an follow the road/path back behind the building(left away from the camp ground's) to the second shooting station(the path is made of crushed clay bird's) an you will find my smiling face waiting for ya(Yeah I'm ugly so don't be alarmed) Plenty of shade(Bro.Darryl) an we can run target's out to at least 75yd's or so.Looking forward to this guy's see you there,we will have a FUN shoot for sure!!! P.S. I will be there at 9:30 am so come a little early if you want.An remember the place will be busy so watch for people walking.

Well, I guess my car has decided that I won't be going anywhere. I've got to get it in the shop before I take it even the short haul up the road. The front end has developed an increasing shimmy under braking. Either i have a caliper failure or a warped rotor or maybe a bad ball joint. Either way, I'm out and out some more money this week.@$%^! Man! I had to edit the really bad swear words out of this post. I thought there was a profanity filter..

I just took a drive on the highway to reevaluate my car. Then I visited my favorite car site to further research the issue. Now I'm sure I'm facing warped rotors on the front. Initial stopping is fine, but after a bit, the pedal is pulsing, and the steering wheel has a bit of a shimmy to it. The fix is gonna cost me, but, as long as I'm not trying to be Juan Pablo Montoya I now consider myself 75% sure to make it to the shoot. By this evening I'll have convinced myself one way or the other. I've already cleaned both barrels of my Beeman RS2/1073 dual caliber rifle. I'm thinking of bringing my Crosman 2300KT CO2 pistol too. If I got close and break down, I've got your number Jay. I've got Mike's number too, just in case you have a violent Geritol reaction! :D

Hey if you got a warped front rotor(happens ) depending on the make and model of the car as long as you dont have a captured front rotor setup its only about an hour to fix both front rotors and replace the pads... you buy the parts I will turn the wrenches... trust me brake jobs are a mechanics bread and butter... they charge a fortune for next to nothing work :)
from the sound of it though it DOES sound like a warped rotor where everything is fine till the rotor heats up and it bows back out and starts the shiimies when you brake...
maybe ya can drive up to dads one day next week and I can drive down and fix them for ya.... would save you a bundle of cash!!

Mike you are too generous! Jay raised you wrong! :D I appreciate the offer, of course. Though I haven't done a brake job in five years, I may take this one on myself. ;). It ought to make the wife proud I'm saving money, and maybe she won't mind if I order an RWS 54 (who am I kidding!)

OK for the air pistol. I've got about 9 CO2 cartridges left so it's good to go. I was out looking for a pistol case, but Bass Pro didn't have anything that could accommodate a 14" barrel. It has a BSA red dot on it. I hope you'll like it. I think I'd better find a new cap for the old scalp too (just in case). Did I hear someone day "cold beer"? I don't drink very often, but a cold one is good for a belch to keep the flies away. ;D
BTW, I'll be driving a little silver 4-door Subaru WRX. Can't miss it because it has a hood scoop. So if you see me coming, I could use a volunteer to act as a speed bump to slow me down! :D

This not worthy but I'm not going to make it tomorrow. Both of my children are sick and the wife has had a long week. If I'm smart, I better stay home and help deal with unpleasant children. Hey guys! I can't believe I was the first to post after the meet. It was my pleasure to meet all of you. Jay, you and Gary have fine sons, and must be very proud. Mike, you have a great kid who seems to be interested all things mechanical AND he can out shoot me without even trying. I realize I didn't shoot as much as you guys did, but believe me I was enjoying the company more than the shooting. I hope we do a fall meet.
I hope you all got home safe and sound. That was some rain. It couldn't dampen my spirits from a great meet. Until next time!

It was a great day for my son and I. Got to put faces and names together. The only thing was the humidity was a little high. Jay,Micheal,Darrell and Jason it was good to meet All of you and we need to do it again with a few more just so we can add some more faces to the memory book.

Well Mike with my little all wheel drive car I was passing people in the downpour once I got on -75. The fast lane was my friend. ;) I enjoyed your Chaser. He was a lot of fun to be around. Sometimes it's good to enjoy the exuberance of youth.
I agree with you, Gary on all accounts. The humdidity was kicking some serious @ss! Tracy seems a cool and steady sort of man to know. I like the cut of him. You ain't bad either!! ;D I'm sure our next meet will have more people turn out, but we six "represented" SW Ohio well enough. You and Mike seem real craftsmen. I'm glad I came and met you all.

I CAN believe I'm last to post, Heck I've been typing this since I got home!?! Guy's I had a BLAST with you today it was GREAT to meet up with you all finally(sorry the rain cut us short)!!! We will have another guy's soon(what ya doing next weekend???LOL)But really like we said early Fall time let's say mid October(sooner if you all want) an I will check on the indoor place for us so we can have a mid winter shoot also to keep the winter blaah's away. I am glad you all made it home safe, that was one heck of a rain wasn't it!?! Gary bring that shotgun on up anytime you want,Darryl run up any time, we will shoot an have Pat whip up some good chow(as you seen she CAN cook LOL).
