I bought a new Hatsan 60s about 6 weeks ago ,but haven`t had a chance to use it.But then my local airgun dealer advertised an old 0.22 HW35 as part of a job lot he wanted to clear out. When I phoned him up he told me that it was probably an old model running a leather piston seal and had been refinished with satin black metal paint.I wasn`t put off as I have some 35` bits`n`pieces incuding a faded old compression tube containing a modern piston with synthetic seal, so I could do some "transplant surgery".....Any way a deal was done and to be honest it already appears to be running on a synthetic seal if it`s power (11.1 ft/lbs) and consistency are taken into account!.
I`m over the moon with this rifle ,it shoots beautifully with Superdomes and Hobbies and for now ,I`m going to leave it "as is",(I even ike the moderator! ;D)
Regards
Kenny.

It`s 51 inches and I`m only 64!!!

51....wow. That's about 1.3 meters! But hey, at 11 ft/lbs. plus, I think it fits fine.
You guys are lucky for the power you may have.

That was an excellent trade for that nice HW35. It seems to be performing well and is making good power. I like those older, somewhat cosmetically challenged vintage German rifles too, especially when they are a good shooter. I bet that 51" makes cocking that thing SUPER easy. ;D
-
Wow! Your '35 sure is long - it definitely won't be mistaken for a little old "carbine." Are you sure you don't need a helium balloon on the end to help you aim it? JK! I really like the way it looks. You have a "one of a kind" there so ENJOY it and let everyone else drool.

It`s a smoothie (no twang/vibration whatsoever)and when I got it there was a velcro patch on the fore-end for a switch /button for either a lamp or laser. This makes me think that it`s been a working gun bouncing around the cab of a tractor or 4x4.Its previous owner has just painted over the scars/pitting from years of hard use; although he has made a nice job on the stock.
As for the moderator, I think it may migrate onto my HW30s,but only if I could find a suitable muzzle weight to fit onto the 35`s period standard (but already long enough) barrel............................methinks a call to the shop where I bought it is in order!
P.S. I found out that what I have is the old ambi beech stocked HW35 STD model and if I drop the moderator, it`ll be back to it`s normal length of just over 45 inches (1140 mm) ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HW_35 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HW_35)

I think you made a great trade. The big tame 35 is one of my favorite springers. Nice looking gun. Congrats!

Thanx eveybody, I went out with my brother on Wednesday to my club range;it was really calm and I zeroed the 35 with RWS Hobbies at 27 yards on a steel target with 25mm kill zone. Then I worked out to the furthest away target ;a 40mm kill zone at a shade just under 50 yards ,this time after changing to Superdomes and the gun gave me the impression that it could still out-shoot me by a huge margin!.
My brother`s pal turned up and you could tell he wasn`t too impressed with my shabby rough lookin` "Shoulder-Kannon", but that changed when I hit a 20mm spinner 2 out of 3 times at 40 yards with my little 4x32 scope....heh, heh :o!!
Take care everybody
Kenny
