Title: Dressing up the Izzy
Post by: jdub on January 28, 2013, 06:39:50 PM
I stopped by Steve Corcoran's place to pick up an IZH-46M grip he just finished for me.  As Petey said "The man is an artist".

He also has a HW95 stock roughed out for me and he has me scrambling to find a nice used HW97 in order to snag yet another gorgeous stock from him.

I'll post a few more when I have time and the light's a little better.

Better, how does it get better.
Man that is beautiful, I would agree he is most definitely an artist.
One sweet pistol!

Very nice grip set! Did Steve custom contour the grips to your hand? BTW, you can send the HW97K stock to me for fitment and testing.

Thanks guys!

Larry, I left my pistol along with the grip I carved (my current avatar) so he'd know the size of my hand.  We discovered when I dropped my pistol off that our hands are pretty close in size and my grip fit him well so he may have just gone with a grip that fit his hand.  I'll have to ask.  I think he did open up the thumbshelf a bit--I have short and wide thumbs.

With regards to the stock I'm now trying to find the best price on a new HW97K.   I really liked the one he let me shoot.   I'll send photos if/when I nab that stock.  :)

My goodness that looks awesome! I've had my 46m for about 5 or 6 years now and still have the stock "wood brick" grips; haven't taken the rasp to it yet. After seeing your gun I might have to. Wasn't somebody out there making custom grips for the Izzy out of gray laminate? Darn grips cost as much as the gun if I recall.....

Steve uses several different colors of laminate.  The cost depends on the material and extras and starts at $215 I think.
