How about a link to the product or even better, the MSDS.

ETA: Which "Krytox". That is Duponts brand name for several different greases for different applications.

The Krytox I see guys using on the spring guns for both springs and seals is Krytox GPL 205.  Shoulda researched it a bit, did not know there where so many different formulas.  Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

I'm surprised no one else chimed in. That probably means they are not using this product on PCPs. That's the nice thing about this forum. All of the information available and people willing to share it.

I've been out of springers for a while, so I'm not really current on what they are using.

I'm in the process of switching my AR2017a HPA over to Krytox for all lubing.  I have been using GPL 205 on my Shoebox for a few weeks and the difference is unreal.  The Shoebox runs cooler and I only relube every 4-5 hours instead of the 2 hours before.  I lucked into 10 oz of GPL 205 from a friend that is a contractor for NASA.

He is going to get me some of Krytox oil  to try out as a pellet lube.  After discussing some ideas with him, I am pretty much convinced that Krytox a near perfect PCP/HPA lube.  He uses it in high pressure oxygen setups and assures me that there is no chance of it detonating.

As a biologist I checked out the hazard info and Krytox is basically non-toxic unless you heat it way hotter than any of would likely ever do.  Even then, given the small amounts we would be using there really isn't any serious danger.

Yesterday, I ripped my Caldwell Rock front rest apart and lubed everything with GPL 205.  It is now butter smooth.

The stuff is expensive, but the 10 oz I was given should last me a lifetime, likely longer.  My guess is that a 1 oz tube would last most airgunners a very long time.  A tiny amount of this stuff is all you need.  If you can still see it after it has been applied, you used way too much.
