Hope the child recovers without complications. ( Rabies ) At least 50% chance that those animals were "pets" of the adults in the house. Not very smart if this turns out to be the case. Raccoons can really do some damage.

I agree Bogey, people are stupid thinking they can bring cute little baby wild creature's in an they won't be wild when they grow. The dumbest part is the pink writing of the paper "had to fatally shoot", how dumb??

I would have been the first one on the scene and both Bandit's would have been taking dirt nap's. I hope that the baby will be ok and and Wildlife is a beautiful thing but the key word is wild. I also hope that these folks were not keeping them as pet's as I'm wondering how the Bandit's got into the house hmmm. Ed

We had a raccoon for a pet for a few years which we found running in the street near its mother which had been killed by a car. I really can't imaging a pet raccoon going after a baby unprovoked in its crib. Yes, they can have a nasty attitude if you try to force them to do something they don't want to do, but we had a cocker spaniel which was as bad. They are extremely loving and playful if in the mood, but more often than not just like to do their own thing. Its my guess that one or both were infected with rabies. After two years, I started taking her to a stream near my house to acquaint her with catching crayfish and minnows and to teach her to forage for bugs and stuff under rocks and logs. We let her loose that September, and she came "home" every night to play with us and get her ration of Cheerios which was her favorite treat(honey nut of course). After about six months, she started bringing her beau around, after a week, she stopped coming. I guess the call of nature was too much to resist.
