Title: HW45
Post by: SnoValley on January 11, 2013, 07:27:23 PM
Does anyone recognize this pistol?
I picked it up used and it obviously was loved by someone. Custom case, all 3 caliber barrels, Pachmayr grips, Tasco 3x20, one piece mount etc.
If anyone recognizes it and can fill in the history, I would be appreciative.
Also can anybody advise how to date this one? No Beeman markings
Thanks
David

The serial number is on the rear edge of the left grip face--you can see it but can't make it out in the photos.  If you email Weihrauch with the serial number they can give you a date of manufacture.  Or just do a search on HW45 serial numbers and try to find one close to yours.  The Weihrauch Owners forum has quite a bit of serial number info on several models.

I have a P1 and love it.

Good luck!

jdub, thanks for the info. I now believe this one is a 1988-89 vintage, judging by the serial number and the lack of safety warnings on the right side.

Very nice!  How does it shoot?  I don't think people have much luck trying to shoot them from a rest--I know I don't--but mine does great shooting off-hand.  It has good accuracy for me and is a lot of fun.  It's also a lot easier to cock than I had been led to believe it would be.  I only have one barrel--the .177.

I put a new breech seal in last night because the original was chewed up pretty good.  With the old seal I was getting about 560 FPS with 7 gr Meisterkugeln.  With the new seal it's shooting about 560 FPS :)   I guess the old seal just *looked* bad but it was actually performing fine.

Thanks Supaflee. My serial is 364084 so that jibes with the available info.
I'm interested in the results from the different calibers and when I get time I'll run some back to back numbers for each caliber.
Should be interesting since the data will be generated from the same powerplant.
I'm in the middle of a "honey do" remodel so it will probably be awhile before I get around to shootin'
