Title: Cheap crosman scope
Post by: edwardmking99@gmail.com on January 01, 2013, 04:31:17 PM
I want to buy a cheap crosman scope for my 1377 because the rear sight broke. How does it work on that gun. How would gamo pba do in t?

Does your 1377 have the steel breech upgrade? If your gun has the standard plastic breech you are going to have to; 1) buy the Crosman inter-mounts that clamp to the barrel and provide a base for your rings, or 2) get the steel breech which has dovetails ready for a scope.

Crosman Intermounts:

Steel breech (.177, assuming your 1377 has the stock barrel) :

I really recommend the steel breech over the intermounts because the breech offers such a solid platform for scope mounting which is far superior to the intermounts. Once you have your rail installed on your gun, pretty much any scope with dovetail rings will fit on your 1377.

I would not recommend PBA ammo for use in any airgun. Despite the fact it is prone do damaging springers, it only provides mediocre performance in pneumatics as well. I have never seen ans Airgun that shot PBA well.

I agree about the PBA ammo. It's expensive and I haven't seen anything that will shoot a decent group with it. The Crosman non-lead ammo is about the same, performance wise, but much cheaper. I'd rather go heavier than lighter in pellet weight any day. Oh, and the cost of the replacement steel breach is well worth the money.
