My! What a sweet surprise this thing is?! My 4-16X 40mm AO looks like an elephant riding a bicycle, on the gun, but @ 840 fps average in .22, with CPHPs, it begs to reach out and kiss something.
The included pump was easy to pump to 1800 psi, initial fill from zero took about 5 minutes.
Bluing not perfect, stock not perfect, but for the money, a no brainer, to knock around in the woods.
Try THAT with an expensive PCP! July '10 promo, #381 of #384, so got one of the last Pyramyd had. Zowie!
Where's the recoil? ;-] Seriously, thought I had neglected to load a pellet!
Looks like my TF-89 Magnum will go up for sale soon. It's too hard on this old man's body, lately.
Can almost tolerate my Gamo springers, but it's time to make the switch to CO2/PCP.
Don't know why PCPs have never been on my plate before. Overlooked them because of price, I guess!

You got to thank Crosman for making these little jewels affordable for us...:) They are not beauty contest contestants by no means but are fantastic shooters.
I love mine also and there are many little mods you can do to make them custom to your likeing if you want.

Man...this could get expensive. Got my eye on a .22 Marauder, when a dealer's new stock arrives in a few weeks.
Would have tried a .25 Moddy, but felt that neighbors were a bit close for comfort (even though woods separate us).
My box the Disco came-in, has "Made in USA" on it. Even if it was assembled here, with some imported parts, or assembled there, with some US parts, not going to quibble. It's all good.

They are great little rifles aren't they? A little advice on the pump.Slow and easy when pumping, they don't have the best rep.for holding up and if pumped to fast it will cook the orings.

I have no experience with this type of shooter so forgive this foolish(?) question. The pump photos I have seen look just like my bicycle pump, so why the large cost? Is it the same?

PCP pumps operate in "stages". The internal pieces are divided into three to four individual compression tubes. The first tube takes the intake air and compresses it into the second stage, while the air in the other stage tubes is forced into the next stage up. Volume of the air and the volume of the tubes gets progressively smaller, but the pressure is forced higher and higher with each stage. The basic principle is the same as a bike tire pump, but with multiple tubes, check valves, lots of O-ring seals and much higher stress to get to 2,000/3,000 psi air pressures.

Thanks, Gary. I'll remember that. If memory serves, the pump that is bundled with the Discovery is the same as the Air Force pump (and others), and I believe it is sourced in China. At least the one I saw from China was an exact match.
Crosman/Benjamin and dealers were very smart to offer this combo at such a good price; the next logical step up from the Disco, is the Marauder (I must have one). Since the pump works on both, it gives opportunity. Heck, get the right adapters, and the pump will work on most PCPs.
I just cleaned the bore of the Disco, with weed eater line and patches, pulling carefully from the breech, to the muzzle, and it took over 20 patches before the bore grease/lube was thinned.
Shot 5 different types of pellets after the cleaning, to see if any difference in fps. There was none. I feel better that I have a relatively clean bore now, and didn't damage anything in the process.
I can't wait to get the .22 cal. Marauder. I need repeater action, quiet (the Disco is noisy), and easy loading.
Not that the Disco is hard to load, but with a scope, it takes a bit of practice to drop the pellet into the receiver just so.
EDiT: The best part of PCPs for me, is the ability to leave the gun charged, ready to load, point, and shoot at will. Excellent for immediately taking care of varmints, should they encroach.

Good looking Disco! They are perfect for backyard hunting with a TKO or a good "break". It has the power of a Magnum/Ultra Magnum Springer.. not too much power, not too little either, and you can get a lot of 2k psi fills from a Scuba tank and not too hard to pump to that pressure either.

Yah! Have the TKO on its way already. Going to mount it before sighting-in. Looks to be heavier than the stock end weight. Don't know for sure. Time will tell.
Looks like I need some Krytech or other pell lube, next.
