Title: Shoebox Compressor Grease?
Post by: Dixiedog on December 09, 2012, 05:56:43 PM
I know that I need white lithium grease but I remember that there was one specific white lithium grease that was not recommended because it turned too gummy.  Now I can't find the info anywhere, does anyone know which one I need to avoid?

WHITE LITHIUM GREASE by LUBRIMATIC marked 'GREEN BIOBASED LUBRICANTS

Its in the forums section on the shoebox site.

That is why I use lubes from known manufacturers.

I picked this up at Home Depot IIRC. It is plenty to last a while.

Thanks, I remembered reading about one grease and you nailed it....it was Lubrimatic brand.  I'll just cross them off my list.  If I run across Lucas brand I'll purchase that, it's tough to say what local places are stocking...whatever makes them the most $$ is the best product to carry.

The Lubrimatic is fine to use, they make a 'GREEN BIOBASED LUBRICANT and it is labeld so that is the one you want to stay away from. Lubrimatic makes both of them, the regular Lubrimatic white lythium is fine to use.
