After shooting my tried and true .177 Air Hawk,I was thinking of getting the Air Mag again...had one about a year ago,but it had a short life.
So how well are the .22 cal versions doing? I have a beastly Hatsan Sniper in .25 cal, but like how my .177 AH shoots too.....177 or .22 for a new Air Mag ?

The .177 Ruger Air Magnum was my first magnum, I too liked it but it lost most power, so Big 5 game me a refund, and I bought the 135 Hatsan .177. They seem to retain their power but you know I had difficulty with the first one. The 135 has more power and quality, even though the Ruger is a solid heavy strong gun. I keep looking at the refurbs for 99.00 too. I think I alway want one magnum .177 just for giggles.

Why not get a B-28 from Mike Melick? Same action, just wood stock. I would spend the extra $ to have Mike look it over so you know you don't get a lemon. Plus he stands behind what he sells. I would go for the .22.

The .22 RAM was my most recent aquisition and I love it. I know some guys have had the problem of losing power, but I think its a luck of the draw kind of deal. I have put thousands of rounds through mine, and its still a monster. I would definately go for the .22 though. Its really hard to beat the FPE w/o going to a PCP. I would definately urge you to consider looking at one of mike's specials though. The synthetic stock on the RAM is questionable at best....
