First off hope you all had a great thanksgiving! While doing the family dinner today at my wifes sisters house i noticed this chinese gun in the garbage! I asked if they cared if i got it and she said if you want to dig it out ok.Well i did as i hate to see any gun thrown away!its a bit rough on the outside but nothing i cant fix.The mechanisms all work and barrel inside is in decent shape.Havent tried to frie yet as i need to clean it up and check it out first but i think it will be ok.Will probably have to rebuild it but thats ok.Never had one of these before and even though its not a high end rifle i bet its still a good gun to plink around with.Best of all it was free!

Can't beat free. Great find!

Can't beat free. Great find!
+1... If it's free, it's for me! And a free AG? I'd take that any day of the week!

Looks to be one of the old Cummins tool truck versions like one of mine, which is built better than the newer one I just bought a few months ago.
Good find!

I bought two or three of those cummins guns when they came thorugh my little town some years back. Great guns. Free is really hard to beat, too.

Please let me know if you are able to positively ID this gun. It looks very similar if not identical to a gun my friend has that we haven't been able to ID. On his the only marking I have found is a bullseye ring on the plastic butt plate. Thanks for anything you can help with it. Also keep us posted if you find ways to tune it
-
Funny you all said cummins truck guns as it was originally gotten from a totaled wrecker truck some years back. They saw it behind the seat and were told they could have it but never did anything with it so here it is now!
-
It's not the engine people...there was a company (crashed a year or two ago) called Cummins Tools. They were like a mobile harbor freight store. They'd go from town and setup shop for a couple days, then move on. They sold this gun (or a variant of it) and a .22 caliber break barrel. I had both types and they were pretty great guns.
If it's a cummins gun it'lll have the "cummins" stamped in a diamond on tube somewhere.

It's your basic Chinese B-3. Check in the GTA library, there's a link to a really good tuning guide for them. Also, look in the old GTA. There was a B-3 craze going on quite awhile back, and a lot of people were working them over, and getting some pretty nice results. Joel

Well i have order parts for this to rebuild even though if fires ok as new is better! lol am stripping down the wood now and will be coating the old girl in Ceramic in a few days but still working on color combo.Possibly a Gold type color and Black. Not much to the wood but it does have one nice grain in it.Will do the grain in black to make it stand out more then sand it down smooth and stain the rest of the wood. Will post in a few after shes done.

Ddgrego, does that rear sight mount into the 11mil dovetail? If it does, I have one almost exactly like it I got for 5 bucks. I say almost because mine has a plastic trigger guard. By the way, I got a rebuild kit and put a new seal in, and it shoots great at 25yds with H&N 10.65gr pellets.
I painted my stock camo.
Good luck with yours!
