Title: Wabbit Havoc!!!
Post by: Fwawa20 on November 17, 2012, 09:56:15 AM
Late yesterday evening seemed like a great time to take a stroll through the apple orchard but I man didn't expect for it to be this good. I would normally tote my TF99 along for the hike but it being sent to MM for a gas piston it wasn't an option. So I decided to take my .177 B3-1 that I had tuned a couple months earlier on its first hunt and it worked lovely. The rabbits were very active yesterday evening they bolting and darting through balks and the fenceline everywhere.  I only snuck lead into 5 but had to see 20 or more in a hr and a half. All my shots were take from right up to 10yds to 25-30yds.

Heck Yeah!  Great walk for sure.  And you saw so many more, just makes me envious.  Enjoy them!   Mike
Edit:  Using a B3-1 is testimony of the effectiveness of the "Non-HiPower" .177.   Good Shooters don't need gobs of power.  Nice Shoot'n!    ;D Mike

Yeah thanks Mike. The B3-1 is a definatley a good rabbit and squirrel gun if your able to put the lead in the right places. 3 of those guys were head shots the other 2 were heart and lung and the pellet still reached vitals upon examination while cleaning. Btw I was using this gun long before I even knew about tuning and FPE and all the other great stuff I have learned here to do this very same thing way before i found the GTA

Wow! Great work bro! I wish I saw that many rabbits out here. I see like one a month and I never have a gun ;D
I think the stray cats are eating them all though..
Anyhow. Great hunt!

Thanks guys. It was a really amazing day I didn't even know we still had that many rabbits on the farm bc I usually only hunt it once a yr to let them mate and prosper. I haven't has this much luck in a few yrs. My family thought the population died from the yotes and fox's around but man are they out this year! Looks like another excuse to hunt more.

Outstanding rabbit hunt. To have seen that many rabbits in such a short time means your going to have plenty to hunt for some time. :)

Hunting Bunnies is most always rewarding simply because they are relatively fragile little animals that with even marginal shot accuracy or power delivered generally do go down.

Nice hunt ... Till NEXT time  ;D

Thanks bro wish they made a gun  with same feel in about the 15-16ft lbs range. I just love the way it shoulders but it's prob just my biased opinion.

Great hunting bro. As we all learn here eventually it's not the fps but energy and accuracy. We all learn later than sooner how fun the guns with a little less fps are to shoot and hunt with.
