I am putting a boss valve in my .22 Disco Double with heavy hammer spring, power adjuster and a Prod gauge mount. How many fps and fpe with 14.3 grain pellets and will it be powerful enough to shoot the really heavy pellets?
-
good question, i dont recall reading about anyone here putting a boss valve into a disco. curious to know myself actually since when i double tube my disco i will have enough air to do whatever i want with
-
I don't have a boss valve but with the power adjuster at near full power(few threads out) with 14.6gr pellets and a heavy spring my disco shot up to 964fps with 30fpe.

You have to keep us informed...I just did a .177 to .22 conversion on my Disco. The Disco Duck. I plastered a nutter at 25 yds with a Discovery pellet pack Destroyer. So am really interested to know how your mods go.

im pondering a boss valve in a bottle fed 2400 carbine or a disco valve not sure but i am following this thread
-
I am hoping to get all the parts by Saturday. Will post the results.
-
When you say Boss Valve are you referring to the one that Bryan and Asso makes? I didn't realize it was compatible with the Disco
-
i seem to remembe rsterne saying something about the seat of the valve being moved back taking away from the hammer stroke.also there have been many complaints of the boss valve leaking due to improper o-ring groove specs
might be best to just mod your stock disco valve
heres a pic of the modded disco valve i have
i got it from workinmanva i think its a better choice over the boss valve

ya a good modified disco valve i think is just as good of an option as the boss valve

yeah the only pitfall is the corrosion issue but if you use good clean breathing air that wont be an issue
using a pump the shoebox or co2 may introduce moisture into the valve i treat all mt aluminum valves withe eezox now because its synthetic it hasnt harmed any of my o-rings as of yet .imo its a good isea to treat the aluminum valves with it .its the best corrosion inhibitor i have seen yet.heres a rust test run by someone using the known inhibitors vs eezox

I see working man has good prices on his valves etc.. Will he ship stuff out for you to install yourself or do you have to send him the rifle?
-
that is a nice looking valve, i wonder tho. how or what does the funnel tapered look do for air flow ? i would assume it would increase the velocity of the air a little when the valve is opened.
-
I got my Boss valve today and it is really opened up,just waiting to get the Prod gauge assembly from Crosman.Maybe it will come Saturday.
-
I just installed the Boss valve tonight hoping the rest of the parts come Tuesday. If I get the parts tomorrow, will put it together and see if it leaks.
-
I have all of the parts installed just waiting to see if there are any leaks,if no leaks will shoot it tomorrow.
-
I chronyed the Disco today and reached the 30 fpe mark ,with one shot 975 fps with CPHP's .22 .The Boss Disco valve gave me around 125 fps increase.
-
61, you went from 30fpe to 39fpe with the boss valve. Not bad. How many shots are you able to shoot in the sweet spot with that valve?
-
I went from a little over 22 fpe before the Boss valve to a little over 30 fpe after.I have not shot it enough to see what my shot count is ,i was just wanting that 30 fpe.
-
thats nice!
have you experienced any leaks? or any problems with the valve
i would try the 2400 fill and .041 hammer spring.just something i would do to see what else the valve will do ;)
-
I had a leak right after I installed it but it was from around the gauge and i noticed as soon as i was pumping air in it.After that it has held air just fine,no leaks.I know you are thinking about the 15 oring size,i read that on one of your earlier posts.I was worried about this also.

With the 30 fpe the pellet sounds like a nail gun when it hits the plyboard from 20 yards.I get around 25 good shots out of it and that is with the Disco Double.
