I know a few of you guys have raised the output pressure on Ninja and Pure Energy 13ci/3000 regulated tanks with Belleville stacks, but has anyone done it on a Rap4 regulator?
There doesnt seem to be a lot of info on the Rap4 regs online, well not that I can find
I really want to use a Rap4 17ci tank on my QB79, but I don't want to put out $170 for one then have to spend another $80+ for a ninja reg if I can't get the Rap4 over 850psi!

I actually have a RAP4 17ci tank I intended to use on my TalonP project. I do not intend to use the regulator but as far as I can tell the RAP4 regulator cannot be modified to output 2000-3000psi. If you want a high output regulator JDS Airman sells them with outputs up to 3000psi. And the RAP4 17ci tank with regulator sells for $69.95 on the RAP4 site. If you call them and ask they will probably sell just the tank without regulator for a few dollars less. I suggest you buy just the tank or have a pro remove the regulator because it can be very hard to remove without the proper tools. In my case the regulator had been installed cross-threaded from the factory so I have to replace the tank.

Ah ok, I wonder what set up they use, would you be able to take the top cap off yours and post some pics?
I only want 1000 to 1200psi output, I emailed Rap4 and asked about shimming it, took 3 emails before Jose realized I wasn't asking if the bottle came with a regulator before he said if I did manage to raise the pressure over 850psi it would destroy my "paintball air rifle" ???
By the time you add the almost $50 postage then convert it to NZ$ I would only save about $20 buying a tank Rap4 directly.
It's starting to look like I'm just going to have to wait for more ninja 13ci tracks to come into stock in NZ

There is another possibility. Look on eBay for paintball regulators. There are some China sellers that have 3000psi and 4500psi regulators with outputs from 1000psi to 2400psi. One I found was ppsgear168. I have made several purchases from China sellers with no problems so it's worth a try and the prices are right.

Just been told on a paintball site that the Rap4 reg can be adjusted the same as the Ninja.
-
That's cool. I have never adjusted a regulator so I wasn't sure. I know most will work at high or low paintball pressures but above the 850psi high pressure is virgin territory to me. My JDS was already set up so all I had to do was screw it into the tank.

you can get ninja regulators for $40 then $20 for thick and thin belleville washer regulate to your desired pressure
but if you want to know if your rap4 can be adjusted google it
i did that trying to find different stack orders for my ninja tank
a whole bunch of different sites came up with adjusting regulators like pure energy and gorilla as well as ninja
i would try pantball hpa tank regulator adjusting belleville washer in the google search or more specific rap4 regulator adjustment

A US$40 Ninja reg + stupidly high postage to NZ ends up around NZ$90.
I've been googling all sorts of keywords to find info on adjusting the Rap4, only info I've been able to find over the last few days was 2 posts about an old model adjustable Rap4 reg.
Lots of pages talking about Ninja, Pure Energy, cheap chinese ones and to a lesser extent the guerilla myth reg, nothing about the Rap4 reg on the bottle I want.
But anyway a guy in the UK has told me that the Rap4 reg uses the same stack as the Ninja and Pure Energy regs so I can copy the rsterne's 1000psi or higher stack and I should be good to go.
I can get the belleville washers for around 20c each here from a trade supply store.

if you have read the rsterne thread you know that these regulators are all different even ninja to ninja
the pure energy stack order is different from the ninja in the threads i have read.i have the pure energy stack orders written down just have to find them.be careful when messing with hpa.its a good thing these tanks have burst disks
my ninja regulator output is different from rsternes i stacked my bv washers for a 1500psi output and blew the 1.8k burst disk
i now have a regulator output pressure reader/tester so i can adjust my regulator to where i need it
